Hibs, that's bound to happen with most of our best horses having been shipped to Dubai by the time the Met comes around.
I'm not complaining - I'm a big fan of our horses racing abroad - but it does take its toll on the strength of the big races.

Still some top horses left though.

How does the result of Queens Plate affect the weights of the MET?There was a comment( made in last weeks interview package) about 1 horse not wanting 2 incur a 2kg if it won.

Horse in question is Past Master

I stand to be corrected, but I believe nothing will change - penalties are accrued for graded race wins, but there is also a max weight limit set for fillies/mares, so Mother Russia will not be penalized for her Queen's Plate victory as she was already at the max weight

Only Gr1 wins accrue a penalty of 2kgs (not accumulative),
unless you are a 3yo who won a grade 1 (restricted to 3yos) which gets 1kg.
(No penalty for 2yo restricted race)

I can see the same exacta as the Queen's Plate coming up again.
