will igugu win the july

Personally I can't have her,she hasn't beaten anything of note, although she has won her last few races really well she is going to be found wanting come july day,I'll be very surprised if she finishes in the top 3
Somebody told me on another thread that history don't favour past master so can anybody confirm if a topweight has ever won the july. I firmly believe PM will stay the 2200 and will defy top weight, igugu is going to play with the big dogs and get bitten on 2nd july, her days of poodle fights are over

Can she win....No. Not with 55kg's and not against this type of opposition. We are going to have to look at horses like Pierre Jourdan and Super Storm (well handicapped currently) to win this one I believe. Past Master is very good but he is not going to get the dawdle he did in the Met.

Not an easy race this year at all!

I have my bet on BC managed a double and have 20/1 Igugu, if SHE does not win I have no idea who will and have no other fancy.
SHE is either a star on not and well aware of what she has beaten up to now but MDK is the man and hope he has another champ on his hands.

I can just go racing and enjoy the day :)-D

Thanks guys for the confirmation of top weights which means it has been done,I'm now even more confident,if history is anything to go buy then we should look at de koks form in the july,he has never won it with his most fancied horse, even the year his horses ran 2nd was the unfancied one like zirconiem, I think spook express was the best filly de kok had
Dave you've taken your bets to early come july day you'll get 6-1 igugu
Really guys taking on hollywoodboulevard, las ramblas, berry blaze and then stepping into the ring with PM,bravura PJ

PJ did run a brave race in the derby to irish flame and the going was heavy has well that day,had a few decent horse behind him, namely ilsanpietro who turned out to be a decent stayer

Greg, PJ stayed 2400m in the soft at Turffies well enough to beat every other horse in the filed with the exception of Irish Flame who LOVED the conditions and the distance. The Greyville 2200m is very similar to the Turffies 1800m. If you can stay the one you almost certainly can stay the other.

Not an easy race and in my 20 years of punting I have only gotten as close as a dead heat of selecting the July winner, so don't take my word for it ;)

Errr of course he did, how dumb of me.....You've always been a big fan of PJ Tombo.... 25-1 eachway can't hurt I suppose...:)

BC, I think you just mentioned the Gold Cup winner there....:)
