St John Gray a true Insparation

He quietly listened while most people wrote off his Champion Filly. She fluffed her lines comming off a hard group 1 campaign and on a track with a short run in (Greyville). He let punters know these things comming into the Sansui Summer Cup, a great sport.

On the day Dancewiththedevil, bred, owned and trained by St John had it all in her favour. The going was good, she had a long home staraight to run her race in her style and her prep had been good. She delivered a scintilating run and took the trophy.

Thats what owning is all about and thats why fools like me keep buying horses and trying to stay positive amongst the extreme negativity that is present in all the facets of horseracing.

ONE MOMENT, A LIFELONG ACHIEVEMENT, SUCCESS AGAINST THE ODDS!

Congratulations St John you are an insparation.

Yip Orange,I agree. What a great result and what I personally like about StJohn is he is his own man,a non-conformist and trusts in his own beliefs.
Well done to him!

Hopefully this thread will inspare us to recognise a champion when we see one.

Watch the replay of the Summer Cup and you will see what a truly superior athlete looks like in full cry. She makes other horses look slow.

I've been as guilty as everyone else and from now on I shall refer to her as champion racehorse Dancewiththedevil.

Congrats to the owner trainer breeder. It is without doubt a startling achievement just to manage one hat...the triple is almost unbelievable.

Hip hip hooray for him!

And I bet my little $5 on that mare, too.

Pirates, there is a chap named Jim Bolger that has done a fair bit of training, breeding and owing in the Emerald Isle and before him that was a chap named Alec Head, who rewrote the French record books with horses he bred and trained, as well as developing the odd stallion here and there, most notably Lyphard, Riverman and Green Dancer. Alec Head is my idea of the greatest horseman that ever lived.
