YES CRAIG , WAS GONNA SAY HIS FILLY IN TRAINING...BUT I THINK "MARE"IS MORE ACCURATE....WHICH BRINGS US BACK TO THE TRHREAD AND IN KEEPING WITH GOOD LOOKING FILLIES...THERE IS NONE BETTER THAN IGUGU...WHICH SOME PEOPLE SAY..CAN BEAT FRANKEL...WHILST SHE IS BRILLIANT..COMPARING HER TO FRANKEL IS UNFAIR...I THINK THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT TYPES OF HORSES....OVER 1600...SHE HAS NO CHANCE....BUT OVER 2000M AND MORE...FRANKEL HAS CHINKS IN HIS ARMOUR.....AND THEY WILL BE THOUOUGHLY EXPOSED IF I HAD TO HAVE STRIKER ON IGUIGU...AND FRANKEL HAS HIS REGULAR COWBOY JOCK ON HIM

I just think(maybe coz I'm a huge SA fan in everythng and thus very patriotic)that we need to appreciate a champion when we have one!! Sort of like if our proteas tk on say 4 example AUS in a WC semi final, we know the odds r stackd against us, but we still(most of us atleast) will stand by SA.. So I feel if our Jewel is to race Frankel(very unlikely)we shud stand by our champion.. Not necesaril take a bet, but maybe the exacta boxed way to go.lol.
Anyway, she must win the MET 1st, if she don't, my speech is outa the window.lol.
I hope I made myself clear here, Frankel is best horse ind world,no doubt, but I'm all 4 our SA champion.

Draw boost for J & B Met favourite Igugu
BY MICHAEL CLOWER 1:01PM 19 JAN 2012
South Africa: Hot favourite Igugu's chances of becoming only the fifth horse in the last 75 years to complete the Durban July-J & B Met double were given a boost when she was handed a midfield draw in stall seven at Kenilworth on Thursday.
High-number draws are considered a major disadvantage, despite Past Master winning last year's race from a wide draw in stall 15.
The Horse of the Year was partnered by big race jockey Anthony Delpech in a televised gallop at Randjesfontein in Johannesburg.
Trainedby Mike de Kock, Igugu worked with stablemate Kavanagh and did not look all that impressive. However, her stable companion is known to be a brilliant worker.
It is a condition of the race that all runners should take part in a public gallop nine days beforehand and 12 of the 16 declarations worked at Kenilworth.
Two of the most impressive were the Queen's Plate winner Gimmethegreenlight, who is 7-1 second favourite, and outsider Emerald Cove. Both were ridden by Felix Coetzee in solo spins over a mile.
Trainer Justin Snaith said: "Felix was very impressed with Gimmethegreenlight's action. I know there is a doubt about the horse's stamina but I don't think it will be all that strong a pace. If this horse is good enough, he will win.
"Emerald Cove is fully recovered from all the hind-leg cuts she received in the Paddock Stakes and she will be running on at the end."
Snaith also runs last year's third Run For It but Bernard Fayd'Herbe's mount is without a win from his subsequent starts.
