Beach Beauty could place, I suppose. It looks open beyiond Igugu and the rather doubtful stayer Gimmethegreenlight (agreed, he has a sprinter's pedigree) and the places could be up for grabs. Chesalon is my roughie for a place, although the draw didn't do him any favours.

Looking beyond Igugu for value I make Tales of bravery a big runner. Similar prep as Dance with the Devil for the summer cup. 1600 supposedly his best distance but ran on from way back. Seems prepped for the Met specifically.

I like TOB too Shadley. This was my first choice before I took the Drier Double.

East If Igugu is the one on form but is off on the day, Emerald Cove has been close to Igugu and BB has beaten Emerald Cove then Beach Beauty IMO could have the best outsiders chance. Last couple of runs have been lets just say unfortunate.

AL -
I think that Igugu should be too hot for this field.
I have done a sentimental double just because it is the KZN boys. Not without hope though.

Igugu has improved lengths compared to BB, can't see her challenging the Queen of the Turf....:)

My problem with IGUGU is only the same one I had with JJ...........Gauteng and WC don't raid each other all that well................I would have been happier if she had been in the Cape a while!
Also hard to look past her though.

I have heard that De Kock considers KZN to be his base these days. Not that I think it really matters one way or the other, because I don't particularly see the point of provincialism when we're all in the same leaky boat anyway, but there you have it.
