Craig, I also look after my Owners. I also advise them....
And the list waiting to move to KZN will grow and grow. It's much easier to make it there, if mediocrity is the norm. Up here it's a lot tougher. And you are welcome to raid us whenever you like with whatever horse you like. No moans, bring on the competition.
With our new programme in May and our Stakes increase, and more races, we will still have more racing opportunities than anywhere else. So, yes, it will be more competitive.

Louisg, I dont think that is the reason but you entitled to your opinion. When everything goes through I think Natal will really take off and I hope it does. I dont think people want to move here because it is mediocre especially with the likes off Dennis, Mike etc and 8 outside yards. I think there are no sattalite yards in Ct and 2 in Jhb.They want to be here. They see Natal racing as the future(and possibly a nicer place to live) and I think they right.

This has been flogged to death a bit, but I'm in the camp that supports no restrictions - practical reasons like not enough stables available should be addressed in order to allow anyone to compete wherever they want.
And it's not about 'who is better' - most people have a preference where they want to race (or live) - that's called freedom of choice

Frodo I agree with you this has been flogged to death. Which ever side you on is your choice and we beleve we are right in what we doing for our owners and so we are sticking with it. I hope this thread now goes to sleep as nothing will change and so we are going around and around. Googbye.

Given the gap the big yards left in Gauteng when they went down to Dbn, I think the real mediocre situation is in Gauteng. The small yards with 20 horses could not win a race back then and now all of a sudden they have their weekly winners. It shows how bad Gauteng racing really is when KZN and the Cape raid up here and most of the time take the money back home. A good example is that Kum Naidoo brings his bad horses up here, punts them and takes the stake back home....

I assure you that when CT trainers wanted to go to dbn for the season it was not plain sailing......no one went out their way to accommodate them. After literally begging for boxes some allowances have been made......that's just not in the spirit of the game.

Harry - talk with facts please. Kum Naidoo alone made over R900k pricemoney up on the highveld - more than any Gauteng trainer in KZN for example....
