It's always kinda funny how so often people who have never worked with horses fancy themselves as knowing more about them than those who do. Geoff is a gentleman who has time and again moaned about his horses being priced up shorter than they should be, because of the stable's reputation as a "big" yard. He has no control over how bookies price up and if sometimes the bookies happen to be right and Geoff wrong, it doesn't make him either a liar or a fool who "doesn't know his horses."

And you forget the many times that Geoff said one of his horses was too short in the betting and it didn't win.
Good luck to Craig, Louis, the Shams, etc. but quite aside from owner's privileges and all that jazz herein lies another reason why trainers may be reluctant to offer advice on their horses. The price of being wrong just doesn't make it worthwhile. They can be right ten times and hardly get a word of thanks, but let them be wrong once and suddenly they are lying cheating a###holes.
I can't say I blame those who'd rather keep quiet.

mr.woodruff has been in the industry for many years and should have learned by now to not put his foot in it . " can't understand why the horse is so short " and then the horse wins is extremely confusing to the punter . his comments should be on the condition of the horse and not whether it is too short in the betting . i agree with flash on this one . maybe mr.woodruff should get some schooling .

Is a trainer not allowed to have an opnion on the way his horses are priced up? Like I already said, Geoff has numerous times warned that the price of one of his horses was too short and the horse didn't win.
Which part of that is hard to understand?

and no 1,4 length win after the punishing ride with the horse drift or stable in betting. take the blinkers from your eyes. is this no a place where if your opinion it differs then it is a problem. scotia what do you want, everyone to say the same? come on

Have you ever stopped to consider that the field might have been a lot weaker than Woodruff realized?

don't deflect the point . horse wins by 10 lengths and the commentator says " won like a 1/ 10 " . prior to the race the trainer goes on national television to say the horse is over-priced at 15/10 . if he doesn't know the horse then who are we .
