Trainers & owners been in the news again earlier this week.....I think Flamingo
Just came to mind. A few month's ago, a trainer told me (he was very kind to reply to my sms) that a certain horse in his stable was jumping out of it's skin. I checked the betting and it was at long odds. It competed in a strong field and I had my doubts. Took a solid place bet and the horse came 2nd, almost winning. There are trainers out there that really know their story......and their horses. (tu)
I really miss his postings.

I would rather run a porn forum than have to moderate a trainers forum (
)
And they are nothing special anyway,they only have an opinion and half a brain like the rest of us

Here's my 2cents worth. A trainer can get a horse fit and ready for a race and can or may pass a comment on his charge's chances in a particular race, however, there are many variables that come into play during the running of a race e.g. lost lengths at the start, baulked, checked, the list goes on and on, and whether you the trainer or a punter, you need lots of things to go right during the running of the race for that horse to past the winning post first. I prefer to make my own selection and should the trainer fancy the horse i've selected, well and good, i certainly won't get off my fancy onto another because that trainer gives his horse a winning chance, never forget, he has no clue how horses from other stables are working, and therein lies the problem from a punting perspective. The comments are taken on blind faith, and if a punted horse gets beat, it tends to leave a bitter taste, which shouldn't be the case. In my opinion it really shouldn't matter whether a trainer passes comment or not about his/her charge's chances.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

My sentiments exactly....(almost...
...like in all walks of life....some people command more respect than others...I listen "harder" when certain people talk...)

If there were ten horses in a race then nine trainers would always tell you why the other nine horses did not win.
