You are right Magic. They do far more long work as they have the light training tracks and far more grass work as the grass is always softer than ours and there is far more of it. William told me that if they put all the strips of grass in Newmarket that could be used together it woud be 85 miles long. Summerveld has probably 6-7 miles at the most and it is much harder most of the time so we use it far less than in UK.

Every Trainer should repeat these words every morning - possibly the most sensible post I have ever read re running a horse - holding back horses until they are 3-4 reminds me of waiting until you are "married" to have sex - not much fun and a waste of time!!

In my obsevations many a juvinile Zaki 1st timer have been backed like the result was known.....only to land up being a battler under his care....but who knows, stable on form and a "newish" training facility may just see him get it right.
