This habit of translating amounts into other currencies always makes me chuckle. Who cares how many Pounds, Euros or Uzbekistani Jimjams R250 000 amounts to. It's being earned and spent in SA, not in the UK, France, or Uzbekistan. I know how many months I would have to work to earn it, and it matters not one iota what someone in the equivalent job elsewhere gets paid to do the same thing.

If you read some of the posts on this site you would swear that this guy Marcus can actually get horses to run faster than their natural ability...next iam gonna read that he can Val to run faster than Forbes...superman ya right

Remember its not his SALARY, this is just an added bonus, kind of like you or me winning a big bet during the year....

I have seen him get horses up to win that normally had no right to win with 100m to go.

mr fc tell me this with 100m to go and two horse with equal ability are head to head who the jockey you want on top? superman for me he is world class but every body have there own choice. i agree with craig this guy win races when the normal jockey dont

I have never ridden or trained a horse but common sense tells me that Marcus cannot get a horse to run faster than Strydom, Delpech, Lerena, Nesius and so on...but reading the many posts on this guy Marcus it would seem that many think he can.

Anton puts them in the right place at the right time is well balanced and is one of the very best in a finish...his 28% win strike rate and 66% win/place strike rate is testimony to his ability to make them run faster....

Yes Titch based on what u say Marcus could get Val de Ra and Bambina Stripes to run faster than Forbes or get Igugu to run faster then Delpech...his strike rate is obviously good but it has less to do with his ability and more to do with the horses.
