at the tote near you...basically you have to take tote bets from the 1st to last race, whatever you win you keep and if you are the last man standing (have most money in your bank) you walk away with your winnings plus 500k.

I am not sure who dreamt this up and they will catch a few fish,but R500,000 sounds a lot but is only a return of 10/1..........anybody spending that kind of money probably understands odds? .............you have to have a much better chance of getting that kind of return by selecting your bets a little more patiently and over a few days rather than one.....what are the chances of the best opportunities and value for your preferred plays being on a preselected day...................this is a sucker comp if ever I saw one,but will appeal to some ego's.
Some will say "it's the same for everybody"...............but the smart player doesn't want the playing fields levelled.........part of his skill is removed by prescription IMO.
Would be interested in other opinions on the comp. and if some see it completely differently

It was put on hold while the legalities were being sorted out

i must say....looked everywhere,saw the advert in computaform,cant find anything anywhere else....must say,hope they fire the marketing guy , they would have 100x more if it was a 5k buy-in,must have been someone who thought marcus jooste ,van niekerk, tannie bridgette , slack and adams is HUGE tote punters and will attract them to be on course that day....hahahahaha f@cken ha ?
if it was 5k .....100/1 i will not miss it for anything and most of you,the PUNTERS.....and yes,i wont post any tips before the meeting

Fark.....I don't know who is smarter .........the bloke who dreamt up the compo or the guy who hid the advert..........you really have to smile!

20 players x R50 000 = 1million, the first prize is R 500 000, 2nd gets R100 000.

agree what is the purpose of this compo ? Surely a R2K to R5K entry would have generated a whole lot more interest !
