Rubyclipper/Muhtiman...great viewpoints(tu)
I agree with the substance abuse viewpoint, but I disagree with the performance enhancing connotation that abounds . JMO.

how come the racing public dont get to read about these offences in the sporting post and newspapers? Ruby etc with all the mails going back and forth what is the net effect of 2 strikes ? next one and out or whats the story? im confused noone seems to keep the public updated on which trainers have had positives and what the fines have been - SURELY WE SHOULD BE UPDATED ON THIS IN THE PRESS - maybe this would help curb the problem a bit in the first place with negative publicity or am i wrong?

as far as i know you can get 3 strikes and still train.i base this on the mdk case.he was found guilty 3 times for doping offences in the year horse chestnut was running.after being found guilty the 3rd time,he got a 60k fine and he was warned off for life if found guilty again, but i guess he was never guilty again because he is still training and is now a superstar trainer who performs miracles with his horses.

Winzip ,were the 3 times you describe, runs that included traces of acceptable medication, but prohibited to exist when racing,or specific doping substances to facilitate improved performance?
That was the very point of my post at the beginning of this thread and how it leads to this kind of irresponsible terminology.
(BTW the last poster who used the terminology had to run from MdK's attorneys ........You may need to prepare to defend your statement)

Horse racing is no longer in the mainstream press......never knew that this trainer ever had a 1st strike and this offense was reported only on Tabonline like other trainers offenses.
Winzip don't fret you have not said anything about MDK that was not in the press at the time and Mike has candidly made mention of those offenses in some interviews.

rob i was responding to blueyonders question abt wat happens on 3rd strike.anyway i hv not said anything wrong because i was only saying wat was big news back in the day in the papers.i must add tho that mdk hired security guards to watch over his horses and stables because he vehemently denied any responsibility for the drugs found in his horses, but because he was the trainer and the horses were in his care he was found guilty of the charges.the articles were in the cape argus at the time.

Winzip, it's the term "dope" that upsets...........I strongly believe they should differentiate.
The guy who runs the comrades on "juice" is not the same crime as the poor bugger who was stripped for taking Deggaron flu tablets.
