Easy, you are not the idiot I was annoyed with and although we may not agree on everything this is not this time. Our training tracks at the moment are sand and varying depths so we do not work as far as we would like. With the allweather going in at Greyville we will also get 1 at Summerveld which will help as it will be lighter. Many horses(in fact most) have prep runs going into feature races as there is no(if any) way you can get them 100% before a race. No horse goes into the Vodacom July without at least 2 prep runs. Having worked in UK I have seen it, it is much easier to get the horses fitter for their first run or run back. Even they mostly give their horses a run or 2 before a big feature. If your feature race horses take a run or 2 to be really ready, you can imagine how much harder it is for your mediocre horses. Some guys really get their horses ready for 1st time out, but look and see how many train on later in their carrers.
