So what are the results before you start day two? How many units did you win/lose and how many do you start with today?

Mr H - If it is only wins it is 4 points, if it is wins and places it is 4 points on wins and 8 wins on places.

If he loses, then the next bet if straight wins would be 8 points on wins only or it would be 8 wins, 16 points on places.

There are 2 flaws here Ziets. Your first flaw is if you lose your 1st bet, and need to double your bet, the odds have often changed by the time you need to place your 2nd bet. THe second flaw is th edouble down method. In order to be profitable you need quite a serious bankroll as if you lose 3 ina row which is not unheard of, you already goign into massive figures to try make back your money.

better option is to pick your bets more wisely and stick to you original structure of either 4 points on wins or if goign each way 4/8.

Good luck anyway.

Ziets has too many selections, which limits his profit, you should limit your bets to the fire fire selections. It might be boring not firing for days or weeks but if you study as hard as you say you will find the fire fire..

Methinks is a 1:3 ratio on wins / place...so if staking R100 would be R25 on the win and R75 on the place... keeping the stake level when winning and doubling if losing...

Yeah Mag, just checked and it is the 1:3 ratio... stil think its flawed but it is one of hte better methods ive seen. There was a punter that used to use that type of system very well. Used to back the favourite in every race. If it won the 1st race he stopped betting and started again the next day. If he lost he doubled down his bet. The theory was in 8 races the favourite will always win 1.

I just ran a back test for the punting structure that i was talking about for October. I used the tote favourites and payouts

The results are staggering.

With a starting wager of R100 and without a missing a day and as i said only 1 race meeting per day the stats are as follows:

Race meetings - 26
Total staked - R136,200
Total winnings less tax - R53,570.60
Total loss - R86,629

The reason for this is on the 5th Ocotber we had a day where no favourites won.

If i exclude that day the stats are as follows:

Race meetings - 25
Total staked - R33,900
Total winnings less tax - R53,570.60
Total profit - R19,670.60

So as you can see the double down method is great provided you picking winners. You get 1 day where it doesnt go your way and you can be seriously hurt. The only way i see this method working is to limit your bet. So if you go 6 races without the favourite winnign you cut your losses. On an initial stake of R100 6 races would only have cost you R6,300 for the day.

The stats if we use that are as follows:

Race meetings - 26
Total staked - R33,800
Total winnings less tax - R26,498.60
Total loss - R7,301.40

There was the race on the 5 October that we were without a favourite and the favourite only won in race 7 on the 31 October.

This is the biggest mug punting system on the planet and we call it the chinese system, the chinese punters we have hate losing. They start of punting small and keep on increasing their bets to try and get themselfs out of shit.
