What else needs to be said or done for someone other than the sacrificial presenters heads to roll - The foreigners who have run this into the ground , i am amazed we aren't subjected to new zealand trotting yet, although it will probably be on the cards. :X

In most industries, the motto is, "The customer is King".

Presently, in horse racing, there is feeling amongst the punter that they are being exploited / mistreated etc ( transparency / availability of information / TV coverage etc).

The reality of the situation is, without the punter, this industry collapses. Gold Circle /Phum would not generate income - no prize money on offer- no owners - no horses - no trainers etc. The only time we will be taken seriously is when their bottom line is affected - finish and klaar.

In the English Premier League, they have a Supporters Association that represents supporters. Maybe something like that is needed in SA horse racing.

I am not trying to incite trouble, but complaints without decisive action is futile.

Perhaps some of our more knowledgeable clanners can add some insight into this. Or else, we must all just suck it up and keep plodding along.

Personally, I am fast approaching my final days as a horse racing punter. I am not only racing against other horses in the field, but also against jocks, trainers, bookies etc. I might as well play the lotto.

Sports betting is the best (so far).
