petition.....smetition...
FACTS
1) Darryl was NOT fired - he wanted more than he was offered, in spite of the offer being substantially more than average for presenters. Darryl has his value, quite correctly so. They couldnt agree and he went his way. Let it be
2) Shaheen got sick and tired of conditions. He up and walked out. Very unprofessional. But, then again, if Shaheen had been complaining for months, to deaf ears, he had the balls to do something, now he will be heard. Shaheen IS NOT and WAS NOT fired
The fundamental principle which always has and always will weaken any stance taken on this website will be the one which allows or results in absolute bullshit posts being a part and parcel of various threads. These nameless and cowardly soupmeat idiots just couldnt help themselves from having a go, by nameing individuals who have absolutely NOTHING to do with the issue, eg MJ and also Grant Knowles
I have told you before and repeat - Trainers and Jocks, en masse, stay away from ABC because of these posters and because the forum allows these unqualified, unfounded,
bullshit attacks on all and sundry. ABC's credibility is jeopardised
I am with Chippy on this one - let them find the balance, sort things out and move on. All of a sudden every man and his dog is a TELLYTRACK EXPERT ? Just to jog your memory, for example, I read here about the days before, during the late Terrance Kirchner's days and the fun etc. I really liked Terrance, remember the days well and visited the old studios many times, quite a few times as guest. I also remember that a "long" raceday in the studio was about 6 hours, no International feed and very few dual meetings. We had lots of time , then , for evening shows etc......
Today's demands on Tellytrack are huge. I have attended many meetings with Ken and he knows his stuff, and manages a large and important portfolio. (most of the idiot posters hereon wouldnt even know how or where to start)
He has a big one to deal with here, but I think he will get it done. As I said, I am with Chippy.
Has anyone seen the latest stakes breakdowns ? Tellytrack is the key to the overall growth. We all want Chainsaw back - he is a legend ! Let them sort it out. And dont, ever, underestimate Ken - he is , by far, the opposite of what some want to portray him as and nobody in their right mind will want to lose Chainsaw....

Telletrack is a tool for punters,if the service keeps on dropping so will the punters and eventually so will the stakes.
Shaheen left his station, because he could not provide his viewers basic information.
Shane is a punter and knows how important the punter is to horseracing
There is very few BULLSHIT ATTACKS on this website

I am now seriously studying the Competition Act for guidance / relevant Sections, so that I can petition the Judge President to set aside the recent Order consenting to the merger.
I might not agree with some of you on other issues, but, anyone try sinking one of us for the wrong reasons, we sink you also!
I have numerous punters who have already indicated their support and offers from KZN and WC from TAB outlets to collect signatures, besides rest of Jhb and Pretoria!
Hit them hard!!!!!

thank you LouisG for informing the rest of us and sharing the facts. To insult forum contributors however is not fair - that is exactly what a forum is for - it is not an official statement platform, everyone and anyone can voice their opinion, no matter how uninformed it is - the fact remains that this Tellytrack thing was and is an ongoing issue and again, because there is little or no communication or transparency, people in general make assumptions. By and large other forum members will point them in the right direction and in the end everyone will be informed. Try not to turn open debate into personal attack.
Yes, years ago TT did not have to contend with multiple sources to be screened - they are tied at the hands in technology and finance, and also in resources such as competent and trained presenters, and also technicians. The whole thing is a live screening most of the time so is not easy to put together. With everyone's help they can get it right. We know what we want and what it should be, but Phum may not be geared to deliver (yet).

The normal cherry picking statements that people don't post due to nameless idiots, it's also easier not to face the music and note! very few are nameless.
Everyone has a right to an opinion include the poster who thinks a sprinter might win the July?
We have many quality posts and a few over the top posts and we don't write the scripts and offer a free service for anyone to voice an opinion and I have read that more educated posters tend to have better opinions than others?
On this specific post, I also stated that I tended to agree with Chippy on the wording/content of the petition but also a big Chainsaw fan and I also mentioned we have labour laws in place where you just can't hire and fire in this day and age, but again it's only my opinion.
Thank you to all the posters that do voice an opinion and not use a smoke screen as a reason not to post.

Big thumbs up (tu)
It`s just like a punter only remembers his wins or a trainer his winners,we seem to get remembered for 1% of our posts

LG i wasn't earning more than the other on-course presenters, in FACT it was quite the opposite. For a lengthy time period I was working for +/- half of what the other on-course presenters were earning, that was due to Mike R slashing my rate. I won't bore you with whatever else went on 'behind the scenes'.
Now let's talk USO. Did i earn more than the others? Yes. Why? My contract stated i needed to be present in studio to discuss the meeting which meant me having to use my own car and paying for my own petrol. On average i spent 90 mins on travel, add another 30 mins call time before going live plus the time it took me to get ready at home etc etc. Time is money
Would i have done it for the same amount as the others if i was also allowed to do it from my own bed, hell yeah! Was i going to stick around after being offered a take-it or leave-it R50 increase per USO shift, hell no!
