Logged onto this site last night and was gobsmacked to read of the Shaheen situation. I first met Shaheen and Neil Andrews in 1996 at the opening of Newmarket Night Racing. Two really great but different personalities, their passion for the game unquestionable.
Since the early days of IGN to the present TeleTrack they became our Buds, always informing the racing public and making our many hours glued to the channel fun and enlightening. Sadly, over the years the powers that be have diluted that fun / censored the charismatic. Frustration is now the name of the game, try finding a copy of Computaform in time to study (not that they sold out, but more accurately that the books have not been delivered in time by the distributor). On New Years day in the Furious Room (Turffontein Racecourse) not one of the tote operators knew anything about the Jackpot Quickmix , one operator made an attempt to phone for advise but no one bothered to answer the phone. Why is it that the punter hands over his hard earned cash ( not a cheque / not a voucher ) to the Tote and on trying to collect his winning is told they cannot pay the whole amount, and is then given numerous vouchers to the value of his winnings. He must then ride to various Tote outlets and attempt to cash the vouchers. Need I continue...

You touched on most of the reasons why I all but stopped punting on the ponies Lipkin. The worst part is that the powers that be do not give a flying %$#%^* what we think or what we do.

I do want to sign the petition for Shaheen however I won't sign something that could get a man fired who I don't even know. Change the title of the petition and relate it to Shaheen and I'll be one the guys out there with a laptop in hand

The Petition for Ken is not about Shaheen. It is about Ken Rutherford running telly tract into the ground.

Shaheen walked out and did what he wanted to do he is ugly and old enuf to sort out his problems with TT. What is this petition u all signing about? If it is abt ken getting fired u guys r wrong by doing it he probably has a family to support and by doing this u taking food out his childrens mouths. What he can do is try improve the course presenters such as julie alexander with dale carnegie courses.
