Two thoughts.....
1) The race was the wrong one for her to run in......you have to think of her future instead of going for glory when you know youre going to get hammered if she is as good as you think and my second point leads on from this....
2) 3.5 million??? the owners must be silly not to have taken that offer........
anyway nothing you guys don't already know
Good luck to her

Sarcasm is a lot more humorous when backed up with a degree of factual banter, the fact that you are actually trying to insinuate that her inflated MR wont affect her career only shows how clueless u are so lets see if she reaches the heights of VDR, all the clever comments seem to be from those who avoid or are oblivious of the fact that she is a 4 time winner and rated 113 , VDR who was well placed in her career won 11 races and just under R2m to achieve the same rating...if you cant see how foolhardy this is then i wont even bother to respond any further

ouch. Do you guys make this shit up?
Without looking, I will guess that WAW and VDR have only once or twice run in a hcp as a prep or very early in their careers, so their MR had no affect on their careers.
No real money is made by very good horses in handicaps (Gr1 hcps excepted, but doesn't normally occur in civilised world). VDR only ran in the Cape Flying as a 4yo and emerged a 113 after beating WAW for the 2nd time (although apparently we do have the worlds highest sex allowance). Via also emerged from Cape Flying a 113, but it's not the first time she has run that high.
Yes, she may have cost herself a win in a handicap, but who would want to trade that for this? Even if she cost herself 100k for 2 rubbish wins, the 113 could take her overseas or really secure her value and both of that is worth far more than risking life and limb at odds on in handicaps.
The biggest mistake in racing is when a hard knocking handicapper kills it's rating by running just off them in graded races, or the opposite, when a proper horse tries to nurse a merit rating and let's it's career go by on the never-never. Hats of to Howells, he said the filly is top class and now she's worth millions because he walked the talk. Who gives a shit about the 13 points now... Rather throw a party.

Some very valid points Jack ...maybe it's just my old school mentality that i cant get my head around but imo for a 3 year old to have earned 400K with 4 wins and have a MR of 113 to me just equates to a horse being badly placed , I cannot see her ever reaching the heights or value of VDR who was waited with till she was a 4yo before tackling and winning the Computaform Sprint and a 5yo when winning the Cape Flying beating WAW for the 2nd time all her other races where against Fillies.. if a R3M offer is on the table VA should be sold immediately along with 2 grooms and the float...

Titch, VDR was brilliantly managed by Dennis, no doubt, but she was a bleeder. Having said that she had to be ! My point is VA at this stage in her career is rated higher than VDR was, but has'nt won all her races. The limited sprint races for top sprinting fillies in SA may be the reason Duncan went this route ?? Her MR now (113) will have little if any bearing on her future career. More plus points than minus points !! Having said that, I think its far to early in her career to compare the two horses. It is great however for SA racing to even have these type's of top horses around, but for how long if they're not accomodated with enough races ?

This discussion is going nowhere fast.....
Let me rather ask this.
Where will she run next? The fillies sprint over the scottsville 1200m?????
Ummm, not for me thanks.
Where to next? the only thing they could have hoped to achieve with the run is to get her sold for more than 3.5 million....
Hope they get it......

Winning the scottsville sprints and then getting 4 mil won't be the worst thing in the world
