Based purely on that fact then Master Plan should be 33/1 :

agra i backed kono on its debut and it looked a winner until the marshall 1st timer fought back and beat it.according to bloomberg bold var beats ace antonius by lengths in work, and ace antonius beat kono on debut so theoretically bold var should beat kono, but who knows how much kono has improved since its debut.this is a very dangerous race and i hope kono wins for you,but im loading up in my exotics as iv been burned many times in these juvenile races on met day.i must add that kono looked like a very classy sort on debut and being by dynasty it could also be anything and improve by many lengths on its debut run so i believe you hv an excellent chance of being on the right one.

From what you say, I have to agree with you.
This is what gambling is all about. Taking chances.
I was told even before Kono's first run.........."if not today, then on Met day".
could not believe it was 14/1...........so "tata ma chance".
It is more a case of hoping for the best.

In the Juvenile race, I have 6 horses in my PA and the field, bar the Burger coupling, in my Pick 6 because I do not trust Juveniles they improve at such varying rates and often these races produce a result. I like to try and study the form with Juveniles it is speculation.

I have my own theory on selecting horse.
High on my rule is if any horse runs two 2nds in a row, then the third run is an unplaced, followed by a win.
Now that theres no VC,my theory would stipulate Jackson runs unplaced!
However, the false start in the Queens Plate gives me hope. Both Jackson/Variety Club were juxtapositioned.
I had my eyes to the left of screen when gates opened and noticed Jackson was slow out and was dropping back. The jock knew VC didnt jump. The actual start shows a quick out of gates, but no match for VC's speed.
But most of all will be the lump in throat,WC nostalgia comment, by the Chairman himself(during the interview with Stan Elley announcing the split from Gold Cicle)when asked which horse will win the MET 2013.He didnt care what field, just bullish that JACKSON will win.
The derby
we all witnessed how unlucky CTN was in the Selangor. He would have cleaned up with three features under his belt, coming into KZN.
Will also compensate for Noordhoek Flyers defeat couple seasons ago.
