Phumalela need to build accomodation for these guys. They live in huts. Its not human. They dress like tramps not because they dont get enough money. Most of them spend their lives at the tote. See them all the time

Do the grooms in the UK earn 750 pounds a month? Is that not a low wage in the uk?

@JustinV"

'cant use treatment of uk grooms compared to ours..then u must similarly compare'

If that be the case...

1.
Why compare our stakes with overseas and the standard of horse (or price)?

2.
How come our trainers take their own grooms/stable hands overseas for the Dubai International, etc? Must be outta place with those 'professionals'; maybe the 'muti' our chaps use that make our SA horses shine?

How come (as Tigershark observes) local trainers don't fly in overseas grooms (and pay them our rates)?

Rather than picking holes in my worn out jacket at Obama's Presidential inauguration, let's look for compromise and solutions.....win, win! (it was done at Codesa!)

because the grooms that go to dubai etc are the top class ones that have been mentioned in this thread and not the majority..surely that shouldnt be too hard to figure out

as for the overseas grooms thing..im not even going to waste my time replying to that..honestly..

Miners are not under paid. U find me a job that requires 10 days training to earn a living of R12000.
