Purely on the article on the website.. and I am not getting involved in the politics of the overall argument/discussion... I have to say I side with Zen here... notwithstanding 2 paras of somewhat bizarre waffle about bunnies and having to listen to some smooth talker trying monotonously to get me to drink what is probably a very poor substitute for Amarulla and Baileys (mute button was hit pretty quickly! lol)... to me Joey came over as somewhat pompous and self-important and just taking cheap shots. Now, obviously I don't know Joey and he may well be a very nice guy in reality. But articles like that really can't achieve anything good can they?
What I find sad is that, in my experience, Craig seems like a very nice guy and it is a shame the two of them can't just get together and try to work on an amicable solution to their issues. Maybe they have tried, I don't know. But my advice would be keep trying cos this doesn't do anyone any good. There does seem an awful lot of ill-feeling within the industry and it can't be good for the required overall progression of SA racing. The personal insults on ABC can be bad enough, racing certainly doesn't need this. Get on a plane, share a bottle of Magnum Cream or whatever it is and try to work out a solution, compromising where appropriate and necessary. Sorry to say, I think the chances of that happening are close on zero though (td)

@Rowdy:

A diamond requires lotsa chipping and rubbing; Craig must not be taken in by this parvenu (with a silver spoon in his mouth)!

All said and done, Craig is genuine and whatever his %ages, ratio, that's not what we want to knock him for.

Don't bother about the detractors, you have a lot of forceful and silent admirers....in fact, you command respect despite the criticism.

For his aspersions on ABC (on virtually each and everyone of us because of whom he is in the game), he is a nincompoop and total nonentity.

Up the Clanners! We collectively contribute more to the industry than a dozen of twerps like Ramsden...FACT!

I find it laughable that suddenly some of my submissions, opinions and views shared at the competition commission are now shared by some of the "team" that strongly denied the same! I guess some are just easy with the truth! #oneoperator

i think many on this site fail to understand joeys underlying sarcasm and the real issue behind his thread and have read his thread out of context...unlike joey who reads this site sporadically,i read this site every day...and there is no doubt in my mind that his view on craig stems froms craigs canvassing that gold circle be kept for kzn trainers to rule....it stems from the clairwood stabling debacle and most certainly from the rules surrounding visiting trainers...this story of joey's is a direct result and a kick to craig and the rest of gold circle..because like many have said on this site before,craig seems to endorse all gold circles agendas,especially the issue on the allowance of what horses that can be raced or cant be raced in this centre,actually it was a kick to the butt to gold circle via craig...thats my take....and i feel he is right in what he said...he uses craig as an example of basking with mediocrity and challenging his win/place percentages..and making the rest of us see that if this is what gold circle want then this it what they will ultimately have...bad trainers ,bad horses but all satisfied...it was definitely done tongue in cheek

RG... there are some pretty unkind things said in Craig's direction and it seems strange and somewhat disappointing to me Joey would say such things when only talking tongue in cheek. Maybe I miss the point but I have to say it was a disappointing read. And not good for racing in general imho. If he wants to have a go at GC, let him just talk straight and say so in future.
