July Fancies 2013

Thought it would be good for everyone to discuss their fancies under one thread. See a thread was started on Hill Fifty Four and one on Vercingetorix under supplementary acceptances. When horses are discussed in isolation, the thread is eventually moved on to page 2, 3 and so on when interest wanes. Maybe the "administrator" can merge those two threads into this one and we carry on from here. There's approximately two months to go, and i'm sure there will be loads of opinions for and against horses which are always interesting to read, coupled with the "heard through the grapewine" tales. Just a thought.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Have backed beach beauty and abercrombie.
Will have a bet on run for it and vercingetorix,
Vercingetorix just because mdk knows how to bring the graded races home,
Look at saterdays racing? CTN was unbeatable until mdk comes onto the scene,
Whoever knows me,knows I back every horse on the field for dbn july and met besides the favourite heheheheheheh.
But have backed these ante post.

I know people have might have written this horse of after his last two runs,in the met where his shoes got ripped of and his last run in the presidents cup after abit of a rest an relocation to alec laird in the highveld,I think master plan will run a cracker or even win if the trainer can sort his niggly problems, coz if he reproduces that run in the queens plate where he flew up from the back of the field,he's in with a big shout.

Wheres all the jackson fans???? .... Just kidding.... On a serious note, Beach Beauty looks the form and there is no ways the Drill Hall was the target after that rest.... So.... She will come on genuine from that run and will be kept ticking over nicely... I see a draw below 10 on July day to jump from ( fingers crossed)... Come the finish line: beating CTN by a 0.5 length with Yorker in for places and some 50/1 horse ending the quartets...

Long story short: Beach Beauty from Cape Town Noir.

Personally i dont think there's value in any of of the three year olds, Vercingetorix (6/1), Cape Town Noir (7/1) or Yorker (8/1), reason being, they all yet to prove they truely stay 2000M, yet alone stay the July distance of 2200M. Assuming they all take their place in the Daily News, but get beaten - then what? If none of the above wins the Daily News, would the hypothetical winner become the outright favourite in the betting? The three year old colts form appears somewhat muddled after this weekends racing, as well as the SA Derby last weekend.

Vercingetorix, promises to be something special but i think the July will come too soon, this horse is still very green and in theory has one more run before the July to correct his greeness. CTN, i think the Daily News will decide whether he takes his place in the July, he wins it - maybe, he doesn't win - he could be withdrawn. Yorker, very big reputation, D. Brugman did say the Daily News would be his next start - not sure whether Greyville will suit this one, if he gets rolled, they may aim him at the Derby at Clairwood, can't see him winning that and then a week later taking his place in the July! Tellina, with his style of running (from behind), he would need chunks of luck to win the July with that style of running. King Of Pain, i think the jury's out whether he stays 2000M.

Beach Beauty looks the right one, but what weight will she carry. Too much weight and the connections may opt for the Garden Province. I will take my chances and shop lower down the betting board, who knows, Cherry On The Top may be supplemented later, and where would she slot in, in the betting?
