100 REASONS WHY TELLTRACK IS STAGNANT
12 years 1 week ago
ABC is the platform for punters to get there word across and seeing as though TELLYTRACK has no clue about CHANGE or TRANSFORMATION in the industry lets let them know in no less than a 100 REASONS WHY WE WANT CHANGE:)-D
1. Racing Experts are Outdated - pretty similar to a carton of milk sitting in the fridge for 5 years ( it goes sour)

hahahaha.... that sh1t made me laugh... I think the racing experts are not being interviewed at all... Lets define an expert (according to wikipedia):
"An expert, more generally, is a person with extensive knowledge or ability based on research, experience, or occupation and in a particular area of study."
Who does this sound like????? a trainer or/and thoroughbred racehorse breeder... Otherwise why the hell do you send "your" horse there???? They are the experts.
So what should be done?....... Investigative journalism.... Hire someone to find out for the public and share the views (Mr Craig Peters and Deez does an excellent job)... someimes the questions need to be spiced up to get the information out (leading questions need to be asked)... That whole "gonna need the run" answer is old now. We as punters and enthusiasts should be allowed to understand what the horse condition is and their HONEST views are... Blood count, weight etc is what information shows the well being of a horse. Surely thats what they use.... Horses cant talk... Otherwise, hell, we are playing darts in the dark with a moving target....
But then the debacle of owner vs punter comes to mind.... What info should be shared with the owner and to public and who should get that info first...
I think I overplayed my chapters here but its how I feel....

Spurt:- A drip under pressure

Imo (am I'm not having a go at anyone specific), trainers are not clairvoyants and most times the trainers are not 100% sure on how the horse will perform - so its better to be 'cautious; and then 'surprised' than being 'very confident' and end up with egg in your face
And the biggest pain for me with Tellytrack is that we can not choose what we would like to see - 2nd channel and all that - finding a way to provide choice imo would go a long way in addressing most of what is 'wrong'

a second channel would be great BUT I hear from those in multichoice that the vewiership is low and doesnt warrant a second channel. In fact a removal of tellytack was a thought at one stage.... Imagine that....

Yes we know about the Multichoice standpoint; however from an uninformed position it seems to me as if no ideas are forthcoming from TT (and others in the 'industry') on how to get past this 'viewpoint' - I for one would be happy to pay and additional subscription for the pleasure of more freedom in terms of what I want to watch, but nowhere have I even seen some sort of survey to find out the views of the people who watch TT on a regular basis?

A while ago heard tt is the only sports ch that has to pay multichoice to air races whereas m/choice pays to air other sport.A second ch is probably out for this reason.Anyway tt is a place for friends to meet and discuss the days racing ...a lot like ABC ... only diff is that they get paid to do so ... Talk about a working holiday!

How millionaires own horses in SA.... How many are on boards in big companies???? How many are connected in places of influence??? "Birds of a feather, flock together" they say. Then why dont these connected do something???
Because, they got what they want... Why bother?? they have bigger things to worry about other than their hobby....
So, why we dont do some thing about it??? I would love to work in the background in this industry except they will never be able to pay me. BUT I would do it for free...
Anything to help this industry which I believe has so much potential. How can you go wrong with horses?????
