Lost in excess of 20 length's but only just got up - will check my back copies of Duffs Turf Guide and post the pics - I happened to drive JBK's car up to PMB for him so was fortunate to be introduced to Lester - what a legend!!!
Also secured some rides for Alan Munro when he was out here - boy could that lad ride when the money was down!!!

bull brand event I recall and he shouted out to the starter but he wasn't listening. They lost 15 lengths and won going away. The same starter had a repeat altercation wwith Piggott 10 years later. In his book he claims that the starter was under the weather.I think Dambuster won a race that day but I can't be sure.also got the jackpot with a friend and it paid over 4600.The oke only gave me 500 yet it was my selections. Those series were very exciting with top horses running.

BH - correct on Bullbrand and The Malsters run - I am not too sure about it running over hurdles though I could be wrong. Dambuster was trained by David Payne and raced a few years later - will check.
Maybe an idea to open a thread "call back the past" to talk about some of the legends of yesteryear - both genuine and jocks etc?
