Len the problem is they can't - not until maybe after the first local race unless you are at a major tote like the one at Turffs - the agencies have almost no cash until punters take bets for the day

Mr H the way the tote operates is the same as the major banks if you want cash over a certain amount at certain branches you have to give notice of your intention to draw and call back .....

Let's Face it ,the system is is not customer friendly ....it's all about the tote. To suggest "we don't give you cash for your own safety"is bullsh!t..........does the tote have any facility to accept Brasse's bet of R5400 in any manner other than cash?????
Not much caring there I notice!!!

Again here is a situation where good PR could help - make a advert telling punters that EFT's are available at all branches and explain the payout policy -

?.......let's face it.....any place carrying large sums of cash are not safe.......many a tote has been hit and rolled but it is also a poor excuse for them to tell you that the vouchers are there for your safety......as you can get rolled and vouchers can be cashed by any one and totally anonymously.......lose one and see if you can claim
not a chance......also there are some agencies/betting lounges that refuse to pay you cash or voucher because you did not take the bets there......I have found if you want cash......the best place to go and the security is not bad.....is the outlet at theTAB head office in town.......this thing of EFT at branches Ihave never heard of.......so Mr H has a point .......the Tote boys should have an insert on TT and explain and educate us onhow to collect our rare winnings.......:S

Imagine winning at a casino and being told you can have a voucher....:
Just for interest what is Hollywoods policy (at branch level NOT online), if a punter wins a decent amount do they offer a voucher or do they have the cash to pay out that patron the next morning??

Correct Mr H but if you win more than R20 000 and you want cash you will not be paid in terms of FICA as they want a paper trail of who the winner is... Laundering of cash is upper most in their minds.

u can claim on a lost voucher...i have...its the safest...method of payment for me.....instead of walking around with 20k....i keep 20 k worth of vouchers with me....i record the no's just in case it gets lost....when i need 2 k..i cash it and get another voucher for 18 k...and if i have a strike ...my bookie takes it...and pays me back with it....its better than cheques...even my wife accepts my vouchers as a legal tender these days
