The mudslinging happening here
11 years 6 months ago
Just of late it seems we have kicked this site into overdrive for all the wrong reasons.....
There is constant bickering, mudslinging and the like over a whole range of issues.
I wake up this morning and see Easy and Flash and whomever at it again with regards to Red Ray's performance (or Blouperd's betting patterns).
Yesterday to a much lesser extent it was over the rain debacle. Even I got into it with regards to the horrible running of Teletrack and the abysmal running of racing in general.
Seems like every day there are people name calling, having a go at others, pot shots.......
Perhaps we should all (me definitely included) remember why we take part in this forum and start making positive contributions again. We can't be expected to be taken seriously when we behave the way we do.
In my opinion this s**t has to stop.
All you have to try and do is make one positive post a day, for the betterment of the sport we love. If you want to have a go at someone, why don't you get in your car, drive to the guy and tell him to his face.....
Otherwise shut the f**k up
Just my opinion of course, do whatever you like!

1 million % and I too am one of the offenders...I must add though that imo Flash Harry's posts are,to a large extent, well informed complaints rather than bickering and mudslinging and I cant agree that he should be gagged...
Give everything but up!

I agree entirely. Some on here have never had a positive thing to say about racing/ trainer/jockeys/administrators etc and actually wonder why they follow it if all they do is write negative comments and often downright lies.:X

Sounds like Scotia's enjoying his Veroom-Veroom! (Have you given it a name yet?). I'd really love to see you chugging dignifiedly (is there such a word?) round the streets of Pretoria, waving like royalty to the cheering crowds.
Hibs, how about an update on your eating and drinking? Hope you've improved enough to get down to Nandos or your favourite something-and-chips shop.
Me, I've dedicated this morning to hitting the shops, then I shall try my hand at making some dark chocolate brandy truffles, which I haven't made for years. Why? No reason, just suddenly felt like it. I probably won't even eat them, just have a taste and give the rest away.

I have now been back in the gym for 3 months. I haven't lost weight yet but I'm feeling much better. I haven't had anything else but water and tea to drink for 2 months now.
I still think Dynastic Power will run huge in the Guineas

Watched many races at the Shongweni club yesterday and a youngster who's father has a share in Dynastic Power was there watching. It was great to see how excited he got in the race. It was like having a second commentary!
He was so nervous about the photo finish that he phoned his Father on course to see if he was 3rd or 4th. The new generation of owner hopefully!(tu)

its too late now I know but I wish they had gelded him already. He is naughty and gets above himself. He currently runs on pure ability but the fact that he is so naughty pre race costs him energy
Good to hear the kid enjoyed the race. i remember watching one of our horses run. backed off the boards over turf 1000m. slipped out the gates, pulled a back muscle and still ran 2nd. I was so excited I was shaking all over.
unforgettable

I hope certain people calm down after a good nights sleep! Just to add my 2 cents.
Flash, if you're reading this from a selfish perspective I hope you don't stop posting (even though you're probably far better off spending time with your wife and family!) because for me you are by far the most entertaining contributor on this forum of sick racing addicts! I don't agree with everything you say and sometimes you come across as patronising and out of turn but for me that's part of your package. Often behind your jest-full antagonising is a lot of truth, which many people cannot handle. I actually see you as someone who cares deeply about the game and the punters and I appreciate your advice about how this game is sick and capable of hurting us.
Maybe I'm alone on this but I don't want you to become Mr Nice Guy so I hope you reconsider your decision. I also hope this forum does not become a bunch of happy clappers singing kumbaya. As long as the banter isn't a personal attack against someones character then I say just roll with the punches. There are people on the forum that love to dish it out but cannot take it back, and some of the people moaning at Flash fall into this category. If anyone here is actually affected by their punting success or failure (financially or psychologically) then they really do have a problem and should get help quick!
Someone mentioned the other day about this site becoming kindergarden for pensioners, well I hope it stays that way and we all just lighten up and stop taking the banter to heart!! Lets remember every show needs a villain to make it more entertaining!
Oh and Flash if you still there, your grammar, spelling and phrasing is why I log on the forum in the first place!
