Apologies for interrupting SK, you keep going bud, sterling work (tu) Am humming along to "Scorpion used to work on the docks...... whoaaaa he's halfway there, Livin' on a prayer...." ;)

R1 7 Platinum Jet
R2 14 True Lonhro (Discover Alice??? :S lol very very miniscule!)
R3 9 Dolomiti
R4 10 Here Comes Billy (Showmetheway)
R5 4 Close The Gap
R6 4 Whistle Stop (Bezanova)
R7 16 Master Sabina (Knock On Wood)
R8 4 Espumanti (Go Indigo)
R9 6 Storm Warning
R10 4 Prince Jazeem
R11 10 River Trip (Fantastic Mr Fox)
R12 2 Rushmore River

These big days often turn out to be a punter's worst nightmare. I will be playing very small and I won't be surprised if none of the above hit a place. Ordinarily, for punting purposes, I would concentrate on the other card but with the track problems at Durban there are issues there too! Oh well, may lady luck be shining on me (us)!!!

To all those at the races today, have a great day... and for anyone with an interest in a runner, hope they go well for you (tu)

Be(s)t of luck to all (tu)

I think Tarry can win the first two on the card
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Here are my feelings on the card:

R 1: A few heavily backed first timers. I would watch them go to post. The owner of solar triptich hasn't been around for a while but I remember his colors. thought he used to race with Pettigrew but I can't remember. He is no mug and perhaps the money for this one should be respected?

R 2: Seems to be a 3 cornered contest between the top 3 but i wouldn't leave out Crystal Arrow. Drawn 1 with a decent jock. Could do worse than a little E/W tickle here.

R 3: Tough race with 3 year olds and older horses meeting. I think you should load up here. If I had to go short i would side with Dolomiti who is an older filly and has done nothing wrong. This, imo is her best distance. The other one that has to be respected despite the mass is Eastern Greeting. She runs well fresh. Arcetri Pink is decent and she is also a sprinter but she is in the deep end here against the older brigade. Tough first race of the PA.

R 4: Tough race but i think C&D form is very important here. For me the standout here is Here comes Billy. I have for the longest time said he is a sprinter and he gets his chance to prove it today. He has a handy weight and loves the C&D.
Desert Sheik has a chance so does Showmetheway. Copper Parade is better over a 1000m imo and he has to carry the pudding. Welwitchia is unreliable and comes back from a break. The Natal boys have it to do even though Kingston Boy is improving. Kings Bay will struggle here unless he is a guaranteed superstar. Not sure. Only time will tell.

R 5: The racing doesn't get any easier but i think Close the Gap is improving sufficiently to win this. I think she is progressive and should go close. The race, apart from her is a minefield. If you don't like her then play wide.

R 6: Again, Whistle Stop or at least 6 or 7. He should be at his peak now and he is smart. There are some dangers but I think he is good enough. Willow Magic will struggle over this mile trip so even though he has the edge over WS at the weights, he will struggle to confirm.

R 7: This race is a nightmare and usually throws up a result. I like Glorious Jet despite the draw. I didn't even begin to handicap this race as it is just too tough. Royal Bencher at 25/1 was a decent E/W but not at 10/1.

R 8: Espumanti from the draw is a big runner. We will have to take Do you Remember's fitness on trust but the colic worries me. Classic Illusion loves it soft. nothing else in the race.

R 9: Take your pick however Sky Rise ran a super weird race last time. He is going to love this trip and only because of that reason do i give him a big chance.

Happy punting and I hope the weather gods smile down on smelly turffies today :)
