Is Kimberley Fucked?

Not enough entries for the next meeting so they have re opened all the races until Monday

Hibs, here I believe that the Operators are partly to blame in that they took away the travel subsidies and that they continue with guaranteed runners, in an attempt to force Owners to send horses to Kimberley rather than to leave the horses with their original Trainers and then raid, if they so choose.

This has created a protectorate as such and there is no doubt that it has also created comfort zones for Trainers. Trainers in Kimberley receive horse and Owner and dont need to go out and find new Owners. Very seldom, if ever, do we see Kimberly Trainers at half of the Sales, let alone at all major sales...

Is the future of Kimberly in danger?

Right now it's not looking rosy. Very easy to run those races on Vaal Sand on Mondays at substantial savings on costs.

I hope it comes right, for their sakes.

all they would have to do is bring that sand up here and shorten the straight

shame. poor trainer from kimberley they get the same apo piso that the bloemfontein trainer get many year back, for me i hope they dont do this move be cause then the standard of gauteng racing take another back ward move with lots of new soup meat arrive back hear.

180 noms for a 9 race card on the 20th is not really all doom and gloom, even though a lot of trainers have up to 4 horses nominated in some races, 9 races with at least 12 runners could easily be achieved..(39 runners from "out of town" trainers)...

Only 2races were kept open till monday which are the juv plate and the 1800 pinnplate in as far as closing down flamingo i think its aload of bs there is the not so small problem off keeping the gambling license ln norh cape and north west before talk of closure can be put forward
