I have close to 15 horses in Kimberly now. I attended my first race meeting in Kimberly a few days ago. I had a great time there. I met people that were salt of the earth. Everyone was real and friendly, and I found the course to be very quaint and unique. While the facilities are a little tired, it adds to the character of the place. I for one hope that Kimberly survives and thrives. I look forward to more visits there.

Nic Van Tonder was a Vaal trainer who was successful with horses owned by Tony Factor, the discount king. Desert Legend was a top sprinter that the combo raced with success.

I'll never for get Alan Levy phone me on a Monday morning, he decided to jump of the bus and not go to Blom ,he was still pissed from Sunday,he told me to back Romeo's horse Among men at 50/1 Steven Swanepoel rode it,I won my biggest tote double ever, I bankered it and took field 10 times it paid R495 this was in I think 2000/1

Charles Laird / Jeff Lloyd regularly cleaned up, not with the favourites though.
Remember a TT presenter pissing off Laird for that, and the basting he gave the presenter during a winning interview.
