one reason i dont miss be the owner

I pay them 2500 per month with accomedation (with TV and basic DSTV,toilets,baths with hot water all less than two years old) 3meals a day free medicine plus yearly bonus now my friend thats more than 90% of HUMANS have in SA. You are welcome to come and look at my horses some will go back to the track in the near future.Most will tell you there are trainers that feed the horses on the cheapest feed possible and it show in their results .all I say it doesnt cost 5000 per horse per month

one does not need to look to the worst to find consolation in ones situation......rather look at the best and aspire to get there.

i am not attacking you nor challenging you or even disbelieving you.....

R800 for the groom ? How many horses does a groom look after ?

No Hibs I pay my guys 2500 per month each look after 3 horses basically they work for about 4 hours in total per day.(What I should ad is that I ave enrolled them for ABET training so they got classes from 9h00 - 15h00 every day where my foreman take them and pick them up)EASY I dont look for consolation I know what is going on the labour market my friend the company I head got over 200 employees and I assure you in all of the smallholdings around me and even on the farms around me I pay them fees they cant earn anywhere else with their knowledge or experience .I just giving you the facts that you can feed a horse and stable him for the amounts I mention(these are not thumb suck figures but actuals)

I really wish Training horses was just about stabling and feeding them and a 4 hour day....:S

Louisg, spot on. Left stables at 00H30 this morning after getting to work at 04H30 on Friday with a very sick horse. Back here at 04H00 again. Just one of many problems!

I spent many years punting in Calvins. Usually with Uncle George who I had horses with.

That's me. Think there is still a set of those colours hanging in the bar.I recall a young lady wearing them while dancing on the table at one of Calvin's events at Gosforth.
