I still get that same crappy feeling when my horse finishes 14th of 14 as when it finishes 4th of 4 ....

this topic makes no sense at all to me.cape racing imo is the fairest in rsa.stats prove this with highest % favs winning in cape than anywhere else in sa.its all abt perception and i prefer cape racing to any other centre in sa.punters are mostly addicts and and imo most punters are not the brightest sparks out there if they continue to punt at vaal,pe and kimb week in and week out, only to get done in by some unreal results with form being a myth that punters chase.punters never complain abt those soupmeat centres even tho they lose week in and week out,yet on this forum you have some posters who think they are too clever and continue to have a go at cape racing, but never complain abt the real crook centres who massacre the punters non stop, yet these very bright spark punters continue to punt on these soupmeat centres in the hope of catching the big one.lol.what a joke and they continue to have a go at cape racing with the highest % of winning favs.

i suppose it all comes down to jealousy/provinsialism or just plain stupidity ,but hey what can one expect from gambling addicts.they are free to choose where they want to punt and with whom they want to punt,be it the bookies or the tote.

Name calling not called for imo - for the record I think that results are pretty much the same country wide - like today at the Vaal the fancied horses came through like soldiers (tu)

So why is Cape racing not a success - in financial terms - that's the title of this thread - and I don't think we are any closer to an answer :S

Sinking ship????maybe when we had a heavy foot on our heads...yes. Then we were sinking.....now we are in a way better place......innovative promotions on race day.....improved racing facilities.....consistent turnovers......top trainers and horses....the best course in the country......plenty of light at the end of the tunnel.....everyone entitled to their own opinion though.....all I can say is a great future lies ahead.......

Innovative promotions like rent a queens plate and met crowd? Or vaal
have a shisha nyama day in the carpark?

Racing is the only so called sport that is entirely funded by the punter,
look after the punter , improve facilities and picture, the blonde with
big tits you inviting on big days mean nothing to racing
