I guess that's good news for those that took the draw...but not good for SA and the series considering they have a great chance being so far ahead in this match...either way, some-one loses...

i wonder when our captain will declare and how much he thinks will be enough runs.imo if we get to a 400+ runs lead then he should declare because we need enough time to bowl out this avg aussie batting line up.i know we are a bowler short, but we need to get to cape town level.amla looking good and hope he gets a ton in this 2nd innings.

Rain is forecast for Monday but I just don't trust weather forecasts. Even if SA do get 400 runs ahead and then declare, if the rain doesn't come then Aus have the chutzpah to set a full sail and go all out for a win. They won't do like SA vs India at Centurion and settle for a tame draw, oh no.

Plenty rain forecast 8am to 2 pm tomorrow.....let hope the forecaster is wrong.Going to be critical when we declare today....Amla get his ton quickly and then play 20/20 cricket and put them into bat by 12 today.

Agree that mentality different...we play to not lose and then see if victory possible...Aus play to win and if not possible, then draw...seems to be a culture of fear instilled first by Kepler then Hansie and now Smith...I always joke that when Kepler was captain, we used to bat for 50 overs in a ODI and then see if we can accelerate the scoring...

We need 3-4 sessions to bowl Aus out (especially with 1 bowler short...)...if we assume that 1-2 sessions could be lost tomorrow...we need to declare 1 hour either side of lunch today...Amla to get his hundred and these two to bat as they would in T20 / ODI to get lead up to 450-500 to allow for declaration...

I agree - with the threat of rain tomorrow, would be wise to declare sooner rather than later - if the Aussies do get the runs, then well done to them (tu)

I hope that the weather people have got the prediction right because if it does not rain on Monday then the Aussies are going to knock off the runs thus not only winning the series but also braking a world record to do so. I say this as SA are a bowler short.

I was thinking the same. SA have to get at least three wickets today for less the 250, otherwise only one team will grow in confidence

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Starting to look very gloomy for the SA bowlers as Rogers and Warner look as if they are having a net practice.
