I think you should Louis, they seem to want to race in 100% perfect conditions..
The safest ground to race on is soft/ heavy as long as your not jumping obstacles..
Someone posted last week, that during that first race horses were fly jumping areas and not running straight and true..
I must be blind, because I've re watched that race numerous times and I can't see any jinking or loose ground.

What GC is really complaining about is that there is something devious and collusive abt the jocks.

Guys I don't want to offend any1 and not taking sides but y did gc move fridays meeting if they really felt the track is in good condition.???
My 2nd question is will this track ever b ready for the winter season and july. If there is any hiccups wil the july b postponed or even moved. We like 3 months away from the big features in greyville and its jus under a year gone by and greyville is still not at its best. Will they get it ryt on time.
Pls I mean no disrespect to anyone

This is such a disgrace, jhb and the cape never have problems with their tracks. But in natal we constantly have problems, 1st it was scottsville, then there was a problem at clairwood now greyville.

Dr Livingstone who had never had a soundness problem ran at Greyville on the 3rd of Feb jock reported that the horse was jumping patches the entire way around the bend, he done a tendon and has been retired..cannot understand why anyone would be prepared to run their horses when the track is in a less than perfect state...

Rob, I only had the 1 runner down there and I watched the 1st race at home and she would have run if the jockeys had kept riding. Titch, There is no such thing as a perfect track. Every track can improve and GC has never said Greyville is right by any means but it was/is raceable and all my horses that have run there since it was re opened have come back fine and none of my jockeys have said anything. As I have said a number of times in the last year or so, Scottsville is our best track and Brandon and Kevin said it was perfect in interviews after winners in the last meetings yet Assessment still broke down when he ran 2nd. It happens. I think we should all just wait on the findings of the enquiry.

Of course horses break down even on a track that is in good condition, a sad fact but racing on a less than adequate track has to heighten the chances of injury and was without doubt the major contributing factor to Dr Livingstone's demise, so my argument remains why race at Greyville when it is clearly not ready.

Titch I gather they raced as it was in better condition than when they raced and finished the previous meeting. As said, lets wait and see the findings of the NHRA enquiry. Greyville has been closed while this is happening.

The jocks raced at the meeting on the 7th after a protest was lodged and after much debate, the result was a disaster for a vast majority of punters with huge exotic payouts, what i find unacceptable is that GC can use that meeting as a reference , the conditions on the 7th where atrocious and even if the track was in a better condition on Friday night (which many riders dispute) it was still dangerous and without the riders taking a stand and refusing to ride the urgency required to get Greyville right would not have been seen in the light that it should be and jocks owners and punters would have been expected to continue to accept sub standard conditions, having now lost a meeting there can be little doubt that the next time we race at Greyville the track will be in pristine condition, if not, I can assure you there will be a repeat of Friday night's debacle.

As I said Titch I am just waiting for enquiry findings and then make my mind up. Easier when we have all the substantiated facts of what happened. I hear lie detectors could be involved. (unsubstantiated at the moment)

so the nha WHO is funded by gold circle have been asked to open an inquiry into the meeting of the 28th feb....so they have asked their own people to decide if the jockeys are guilty or not?
