We will wait and see the outcome what will be the punishment be for jocks and if they find jocks not guilty what will the repercussions be on gold circle? The track has not been right for a very long time that's the bottom line.

Rob, GC agrees with you and so do all the people involved. They spoke to the Jockeys and said that the track is basically on the side of a construction site and is work in progress but it is raceable. GC has commitments to Phumelela and their overseas partners to put on these meetings and their is a penalty if they don't. That means less money for stakes in the GC racing model. We all know that safety comes 1st but the repercussions of not racing when we could have a far and wide. A number of jockeys(and some very close to you) have said we could have raced.

That last sentence seems to indicate that the protest was premeditated. ....and will be repeated . You know something Titch????

If it was premeditated , but seemingly some jocks wanted to ride, why are they not shouting out ? Why did the jocks not just get replaced ? and run the meeting using appies? Sure there must gave been some on course ? Was there only 16 jocks on course ? Could the meeting not have taken place with smaller fields if no suitable jock ?

Absolutely guarantee that if the track remains in a dangerous condition the meeting will not take place and as pirates eludes to continued loss of income due to an inadequate facility will lead to a civil case, what amazes me is how a vast majority have fallen for the side step GC created by deflecting the blame onto the riders, bottom line is that the ONLY reason the meeting never took place is because GC where unable to provide a safe track why should we wait for the inevitable injury of horse, rider or both before sanity prevails...

Craig - you seem to defend Gold Circle in every instance. We are very concerned about how Gold Circle is running racing in KZN. I am starting to get rid of my shares in horses that I own as I do not enjoy it anymore.

its hard enough for everyone to stay in business let alone when meetings are scheduled on a track that the jockeys are unsafe on - why didnt they get 4/5 jockeys to cnfirm safety early and reschedule to clairwood if need be as opposed to nobody making a cent - makes no sense - especially when they knew the track was a problem and has been for ages - and the owners must just pay keep for what? no fair chance imo

Garth, if you read my posts I have said that the course was not perfect by any means and GC have admitted that and have spoken to the jockeys. I have also said that we should let the NHRA hearing decide who is right or wrong and to wait for those findings. Is that defending GC? by001, 3 horses were galloped at 14:30 with the trainer, course manager and GC watching. No one had anything bad to say about the course and the 3 riders were happy. The trainer said that no horse hesitated or ducked.(they were 3x 2yr olds as well). As I have said I was not there but being on the trainers committee, I have had many phone calls about it. Lets see what comes of the enquiry.
