The question that needs to be asked is what did the riders have to gain by arriving at the course and then not riding? they do not get paid for the rides they did not fulfill so it was just a waste of their time and the punters that arrived on course...

Having apprentices replace jockeys is also not suitable for many reasons one they inexperienced and with a track in poor condition you enhance the likelihood of an accident. They also learning so some horses should just not be ridden by them.

Hello Titch......if they did not pitch at all.... would they ever be offered rides again. Don't be doff!!
And everyone says the track is/was unsafe. How many jocks and/or horses were injured? As far as I read here it is opinons.... the jocks believe it was unsafe.... the track officials feel it is safe ....

And Titch... you said 'pristine' condition.... not 'unsafe'

sometimes pictures and even replays dont show the full extent of an event ....and sometimes ,some feel that TITCH overreacts....but i spoke to 2 seasoned punters...and by seasoned..i mean,they never miss a race meeting...and by that i mean...they are on course EVERY..single KZN meeting...pirates knows them well...they are positioned every meeting,on any course just as the horses leave the course...and the reason i give this detail,is that some on here..maybe even Craig Eudey knows who i refer to....and they told me yesterday...that the course was definitely not raceable..and if THEY said that...i will not even contemplate going or arguing against them...and 1 of them even owns a few totes..so he couldnt have been talking only from his pocket,because loss of revenue of a meeting to him..is of great importance

Anton Anthony Cormack S'manga etc will get rides no matter what...how many track officials where going to ride on the poor excuse for a track??

RG I cannot think who they are. Positioned as the horses leave the track its self or the course as a whole? As everyone says it is an opinion and there are( as I have been told by some jockeys and some through their trainers) jockeys who said it was good enough to ride.:S

at the rail...as the horses leave the parade ring,craig..and go up the shoot...or down the shoot depending which course u r in
