2014 CHAMPIONS SEASON CHARITY TURF CHALLENGE
sponsored by GOLD CIRCLE
The Racing South Africa team are currently processing all manual entries and payments received before doing an internal audit of the competition. We apologise for the delay which we estimate will be completed by Friday, 16 May when a provisional leader board will be released and THANK racing fans for their patience in advance.
If you submitted an email address with your entry, you will receive all CTC updates. If not, then please follow the weekly CTC press release which will be published in the Sporting Post, on www.racingsouthafrica.co.za & www.africanbettingclan.co.za websites.
The 2014 Charity Turf Challenge kicked off with visiting trainer Brett Crawford and his smart daughter of Tiger Ridge, MAYBE YES (SAF) scoring 14 points in the Gr.2 KRA Fillies Guineas. It was then the turn of another Cape trainer, Justin Snaith who is vying the SAF trainers’ title, to lead in the winner of the Gr.2 KRA Guineas with the son of Dynasty, LEGISLATE (SAF) who ensured maximum points for his follows in the competition.
However, the performance on the opening day of the competition belonged to the Dennis Drier trained daughter of Dynasty, BEACH BEAUTY (SAF). She won the Gr.2 Drill Hall Stakes with a devastating turn of foot and earned 14 points for her legion of followers.
Popular choices in this year’s competition that were on the board on the first day were In The Fast Lane, Captain America and Capetown Noir.
On Sunday at Kenilworth Racecourse, Power King (SAF) won the Gr.3 Winter Guineas, scoring 9 points.
A provisional leader board (subject to verification during final audit) will be available shortly.
The first of the spot prize draws will take place on Friday, 16 May (Greyville night racing featuring the Betting World 1900) so stay tuned to Tellytrack before the start of Race 5. This is a computer generated, random draw from all entrants and not dependent on points earned. The two R500 telephone betting deposits are kindly sponsored by TAB GOLD “The Intelligent Bet”.
As and when Charity Turf Challenge horses earn points, we will update the Racing South Africa website and email data-base: www.racingsouthafrica.co.za
Lastly, we thank all entrants for their support and wish them every success and lots of excitement during the 2014 Champions Season Charity Turf Challenge sponsored by Gold Circle.
Best Regards
Charity Turf Challenge Team
