Fortunately we have Gambling Boards that dispense licences, and if a licensee
is compliant in the conditions attached to their licence, and contribute taxes to
the Provincial Revenue funds, they can basically bet on anything. That is what
"licensing" is all about.
Phumelela are just another licensee, and have no jurisdiction or control over
other licencees.
Just don't tell the Hong Kong Racing Club that bookmakers are betting on the
result of their Lotto draw (Mark Six) in the Lucky Numbers bets.

I think I'm aware of what the licence allows and the open bet has been allowed to bookies...just, as a personal preference, I would prefer that each stick to what they are "best" at...
But P is being the big dog in the yard and wants the entire yard...net result will be that no-one will come to play...

Oscar I'm afraid you are correct and unfortunately the warning signs have been there for all to see for too long now. The Western Cape deal was the last stand that could have brought about positive change. Once the bookies have been dealt with the next attack will be on Gold Circle and aren't they just doing a fine job of tearing down their own walls before the army arrives.
Anyone who knows me knows that racing is my passion but I cannot stomach this crap for too much longer!!!

Apparently HK really annoyed they haven't been receiving their cut of the bookies payment on their racing, so picture cut to SA but continues to show in AUS who have thousands of bookmakers. Can that be true??
