Think you`re right. Here he is standing in the parade ring with both his jockeys present.Stable jockey on this well-backed horse .His other horse is favourite.Surely to goodness he must there and then ask the trainer what the hell is going on.

Hodgson,to my knowledge,doesn't give interviews.
Hodgson is private trainer to Adams.I cannot recall any other owners in that yard.
The stable jockey rode the winner!!!
Adams being a very shrewd businessman MAY have covered himself.

but do we know what Adams was told by the Trainer? Obviously he was told something else or he would not have been upset

Yep, and King Karl on the coupled favorite.
Never sat on the horse before. Put Karl on and attract money. Guaranteed to drop punters in the Kak.
We almost got Van Zyl'd in the second race today at Clairwood, with Delpech on the favorite and the coupling getting beat. Fav no where to be seen.

It is regrettable but unsavoury occurrences like this is what ultimately gets owners to start culling and get out of the game. To an owner like Mr. Adams, it is very easy to stop subsidizing the stables with his horses, many of them well bred imports.
With the many options open, he could at the very least start donating to all the charities in the Cape and get tax relief.(tu)
Perhaps he could send more of his horses up north or even to Mike de Kock,w here he would get an invite to come to Meydan when one of his runners find their way to World Cup night.(
After all why do big owners invest or donate in racehorses if it is not all about the fame and glory?

I also found the whole arrangement confusing, why put Karl on the form horse -though professional maiden- and the stable jock on the first timer?

I picked Twentymanjones purely on the basis that the raced horses were a poor bunch, and the stable jock on him. Ironically, I would have ignored him had I known he is a nutcase who hasn't been able to pass the stalls. Hassan knew more than the rest of us, and ended up backing the wrong horse because the nutter behaved itself. So now we must feel sorry for him ?!?. No ways.
Trainers and jockeys get it wrong as often as the rest of us. If I got pissed off every time they do, I really wouldn't have much fun in racing.
For example, race 3 Bernard picked Paradise Horse which ran 5th while the stable companions finished 2nd and 4th. He did so in good faith, but got it wrong. That's life. Nothing sinister, nothing to get pissed off about.
