If you look at my comp. Entry you will see I also found it on Friday night without looking at the betting for exactly the same reasons......

Thanks for feedback...

Of no relevance or significance to me...doesn't bother me...saw the number of posts regarding this matter and couldn't understand...just my opinion that he has the power to make a decision to ensure that it doesn't / is less likely to happen again rather than rant / vent...there are private avenues for that and again ego cropped up to do so in public...

The guy just had (one of ) his horse/s win and rather than expressing gratitude about that...that's enough from me about this...it doesn't matter...:)

Got to go make some sandwiches for schoolkids...

Hiibs, point taken., but have been punting for too many years to just chuck it up.

Backing favourites, is not my speciality

My comments below, not directed at you.

I have made it big and lost big as well, without owner/jockey or trainer tips.

I think the issue here is the transparency of racing being highlighted, once again, and this time by a big time owner like Mr Adams.

He has often expressed his outspoken view, and these views have "offended players in the game", and it is these "players in the game", who don't give a hoot about the punters, who provide the cash that keeps them in business., and keeps this business alive.

We often see a horse favored in the betting getting beaten by a stable companion, and often there is last minute money for the winning horse. Courtesy of our trustworthy, highly questionable tote payouts, being subjected to last minute adjustments.

So somebody knows something, that 90% of betting pool contributors don't know and will never know.

PE, is a good example.

An astute punter will pick this up, and include couplings in his selections. Bigger perms require bigger layouts.

How many of the R20 players can afford to do this, and yet the bulk of the pools come from these guys.

So where is the transparency of racing when the bulk of the pool comes from those not in the know to fund those in the know.

I am not in anyway, trying to morally uprighteous, as these words cannot be used when it comes to racing.

Hence, it becomes even more worrying, when a big time owner makes comments that once again highlights the transparency issue.

In almost every industry, there are a small group of people "in the know" who then utilise that knowledge to benefit handsomely...in racing, that knowledge is crucial in that it re-directs the funds contributed by the majority into the hands of that small group "in the know"...money from losing tickets is what is used to fund winning tickets...the operator has already taken their cut and with bookies, if they have priced their book correctly or covered bets elsewhere, they will also not be funding winning tickets...it is funded by losing tickets on their book...

So, much the same with shares and insider trading though there are rules and penalties against that but that doesn't seem to be the case with racing...sad state of affairs...knowledge is power and where knowledge is restricted / controlled, power is greater...

With respect Madji,if he is feeding the trainer ,all the stable employees and all the horses ,he might feel that he is entitled to be a little better informed than just giving it his best "guess" on a Friday night !

Anyone who does not believe or want to believe that Anton is a champion jockeys is either blind or has no clue about racing. He could hold his own anywhere in the world.

Craig, there is absolutely no doubt about Marcus been a top jock.

There are just times when his riding boggles the mind. As number 1 rider for Laird/Jooste, he has set a precedent, so unless there was a problem with the horses, or whatever, those rides were just not on par.

Congratulations on your win on Chill.

Before I ask this question, I want to be quite clear, that I am in no way trying to be sarcastic.

Appreciate, if you can give people who do not have a clue about racing, some insights into the improved performance of Chill.

Can we expect a similar performance next time, obviously taking into account the class of the next race it is entered into?

I included your horse in my P6, which I caught, and the only reason I included it, was because it was your only runner for the meeting, something I do with all trainers who have one entry for the day, so nothing personal.

Boggles my mind how people can critisize jocks so easily....bear in mind....in a race...even with a well thought out plan...theres always abt 10 others....and decisions have to be made in a split second....not in the minutes it takes you to find faults!!!!!!
