Lucky Dude's Betting Diary...

I had a look at what my system likes for today at Scottsville. It only likes GITIANO in race 7 should it start as the bookies favorite. My system is supposed to look for worthy favorites, so if it does not start as favorite, no play will be made. I think it's second or third favorite now, so if it gets backed in to favoritism, I'll join in and bet it.

At 10 mins to off time I'm watching the Interbet screen and thinking, GITIANO is third favorite at 8.5... Looks like a no play, but I'll keep watching, just in case...Only R1550 bet on it on Interbet at this point... Not much interest there...

5 mins to go it's drifted out to 5th favorite, R3915 now bet on it on Interbet... There will definately be no bet from me, I'm just interested to see where it'll run now. How will I feel if it wins?.... That's why I love horse racing, even when I don't have a bet my juices are flowing and I feel alive.

At the off it's now drifted right out to least favored horse, incredible.. All in the space of 10 minutes. Weirdly it also hasn't got the least amount of money bet on it on Interbet... It has got the second most amount of money bet on it, R8229, only ROYAL ZULU GUARD has more at R17203..

I had a quick look at what the not so bullet proof system likes today. Remember I will only bet them if the selection is an outright favorite on Interbet at the off. At the moment only one is currently the favorite according to the tabgold site.

Here's hoping we'll have a bet and break the losing streak. The Vaal has been good for the system thus far, even though the winners were on the turf. Here's hoping...

LADY OF KILDARE running unplaced now means that the system is on a 6 straight bet losing streak. The system now shows a loss of R29.22 after 8 R20 bets. Maybe tomorrow I'll break the losing streak.

Ok I've run the system stats for Fairview today and it's produced the following possible bets should they start as favourite on Interbet...

Race 2 1 CHELLVAN ABBEY Currently 2nd favorite
Race 6 1 DRILL SARGEANT Currently a longshot

So it looks unlikely that I'll have a bet today unless CHELLVAN ABBEY gets backed into favoritism. On quite or low action days my mind always wonders as how the system can be improved, and I'm always looking to adjust the original system, but I have committed to my original criteria and I will stick to it until after the 100th bet. But already I am considering making the following change should I try an improved system. I feel results tend to be more consistent on turf when the going is good or good to soft. So maybe I'll scrap all sand and poly racing in future systems. Also the system may only work on certain types of races, and so I'll also look into that when the time comes.

Lucky, your exploits are becoming addictive reading... No disrepect, but as a seasoned punter, my loyalties are at odds with each other (pardon the pun), I find myself torn between the reality of my experiences through punting and systems, and wanting you to succeed... Compelling stuff! Like a horror movie.. Will you survive??

I have to say I'm feeling really nervous after the poor string of results, but my juices are flowing again and I'm looking forward to seeing to results of today's racing.

5 minutes to the off time and my R20 is on BLACK JAGUAR which looks like a sure favourite at 4.75 on Interbet. Sometimes I like to bet a bit earlier if the think the price will sharpen. On the tote it was 2.20. So is the tote price going to increase, or the Interbet price going to sharpen?...

Well it started at R4.50 on Interbet, so I got a good price. But what a horrible ride by the jock, he never gave it a chance. I'm really starting to hate appies on my favourites! 7 losing bets in a row now... I must stay calm... I must stay calm....
