having said that not too sure what the correct etiquette should be on the racing thread, because some say the reason most dont post their selections is because of similar posts to mine

No

Colors you do fine, if someone doesn't like the way you post then they can simply pass over what you say. Ignore it. And when someone has asked you to expand on a point you invariably do, so what's the issue? Those who don't post will always find a reason for not doing so, some valid, some less so, some bizarrely amusing!
Thanks as always Bayern.

My World ran against, one has to say, very average older horses the day he won his maiden, he was the only 3 year old in that race. He was the highest merit rated horse in the race with 77, and the next highest was 60, who no surprise ran second. There has been 5 subsequent runners and no winners from that form line. Admittedly being a 3 year old he is open to improvement, however the Seize The Throne form line has stood up, and I would be prepared to gamble he will show more improvement between the two tomorrow.
By the way, would you like to double or quits the coke bet, I could reach a case come Christmas - hey, I'm just messing with you.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I actually spent an unusually long time for CT studying this card... and I don't think I am any the wiser come the end and disappointed I ended up on every fav except that in the first, so if you want a good thing, it would seem you need to back the fav in the first!! lol... selections for what it's worth...
R1 Tomba La Bomba
R2 Fat Bottom Girl
R3 Captain's Dove
R4 Scot's Party (especially if they win the football tonight lol)
R5 Eventual Angel
R6 Heartland
R7 Come Fly With Me (though would have preferred a more confident sounding MB)
R8 Seize The Throne
R9 Imibala
A couple I think are worthy of consideration for a small e/w or place...
R1 Eternal Love... debut was a fairly strong field and not disgraced. Had a long rest but looks a much weaker field (2.5l behind Door Of Deception when both on debut). Liked as an idiot with the long break my main concern but subsequently seen JR's comments which have bolstered my thoughts.
R1 Putinka... returns to Kenilworth where he ran very creditably in his first two outings before being somewhat disappointing in two outings at Durbanville. Possible excuses for those latter two runs but also could be a horse for a course (3.25l behind Door OD when on debut to the latter's third run).
R1 Tomba La Bomba... the other two I have nibbled and will form my trifecta but I shall go in with TLB as my first choice. From a wide draw on debut over 1000 at Durbanville, ran on very nicely and gave me the impression he would come on a lot for it (though I am most definitely not an expert on such things!!). The winner, also drawn wide, ran a decent race first time out of the maidens. MB not bullish but gives him an e/w chance.
All are (possibly) unfortunately drawn high. Triptique and Ovar are respected but not convinced they deserve such short prices and hoping there isn't a hidden first timer coming to win by 10 lengths!
I'll try to comment on the other few, in a couple of other races, I give a chance to later. Killing myself perhaps, but before everyone reads JR's comments you might want to get on EL a place while the price is still there, assuming you think it has a chance too as it might shorten based on what he says...
Be(s)t of luck to all

Could is the operative word there, could also need the run after 284 days off the track! Betting suggests the latter methinks.

Race 8 - Emerald Albert...trainer and jockey in some form...got up to run 3rd last time at a good price for me to pick up the places so sticking with it...think it was dropped too much (6 points) after maiden and only increased 1 point for last run...draw not a problem as all good runs have been running on from behind...
I'd much rather take the 2/1 on Emerald Albert to place than the +-7/2 on the two 3 year olds to win...they seem to be too high in the ratings for maiden winners...
All the best to all Clanners for tomorrow...
