To finish the e/w's or places or whatever...

R6 no waffle but I think Rebel House could go close again with the appie continuing to give him a weight from which he could well be competitive.

R7 Hopeitsaprize has had 4 consecutive lousy draws and cracks a good one in 3 here. I also suspect she has a preference for good ground, something she has experienced only once in those 4 runs. In that run she was only 2.5l behind Swanee River giving the latter 4.5kgs and having the worse of the draw. it is possible SR has improved since but she beat a number of this field lto on less favourable terms. That includes Study The Stars a 5/1 shot here who is closely matched with My Precious a 7/2 shot here. At 33/1 I think there are possibly a lot worse options than a small e/w on Hopeitsaprize. Has been on a 15 week break but last time she returned from a similar length lay off she ran a respectable 4th, running on over 1200 and finishing just ahead of Tigress Dance who has finished thereabouts with STS in their last two runs.

R8 I think there is some value about Diplomatic. Although well behind Dangerous Liaison lto that was when trying blinkers and they are removed here. Arguably has the holding of DL on the Friendly Tibbs run back in April though DL did have a wide draw that day. On the September run to Golden Crystal, he has 3l on Sidecar. Diplomatic has consistent form if ignoring that last run and is usually in the vicinity and also has a decent draw in 3, though I would rather the jock had better recent stats. With DL 7/2, Sidecar 7/1 and Diplomatic around 16s I know which I would rather chance.

Race 5 - 2 Princess of the Sky...unbeaten over c/d...only defeat at this distance (won other 3 at this distance) was in Grade 1 when finishing 9th (4 lengths behind In the Fast Lane) after being bumped...
Good draw a bonus...

bayern wrote: @ Chris VB, it will be foolish to write off the winning chances of Eventual Angel. The 5th does appear to be a two horse race between Eventual Angel and Acrostar, do yourself a favour and Dutch them in a multiple if you intend taking one, nothing worse than going out to the obvious danger. You can still make money swopping them around in that particular leg.

I agree everything points to Acrostar, but Eventual Angel is a smart horse, and the bookies think so as well.

EA is my favorite KZN filly and I think she is very good. The conditions of this race doesn't suit her and with this being her first start over 1600m, first start in CTN and first start following a layoff, I'm willing to go against her this once :)
Also, with some smart fillies here, I think the price is cramped only because of Drier and Cormack.

Badly out at the weights with Acrostar but the Bass stable is firing. I would still go with Acrostar this once.....

Bayern i dont know how you read a race but for me Juddering Angel is the clear cut winner in the same mould as choosing Independence on Sunday, and then when you see the jockey booking you kinda know you on the right one

If they feel Tygerhoogte is a 25/1 shot you cannot have Imibala

Morning guys

In race 5 i think its open,Shingwedzi and Princess of the Sky should have a chance.
Jockey booking confuses me because i like Princess strongly but Aldo is on that one.
On the run behind Double Whammy she should have a big chance..and that was coming off a break. She won Acrostar over cd before and if double whammy was in this field i would make it a good thing.Eventual Angel will have to be very good to win this race i feel.

Race 9 i like Imibala..any improvement and not being too green then the son of Dancers Daughter will win well.My banker in the p6.

Wind is pumping today..will be a big factor too.
