Runner today
Race 8 Western Wu. He has been rather frustrating to follow, but he ran ok after his break, and has been working well. He may need one more run to hit his peak, but I think he is a serious runner in this race. The smart 3yos Seize the Throne and My World have to give him weight, but have good scope for improvement. There are a few others with chances, but I think those 3 will fill the trifecta.

I've got In the Cruise each way in multiples - should prefer this shorter and probably needed it last time.

Balance of the card and included in my ATCs in some form or another:

Study the Stars to place (drawn well today)

Seize the Throne to win (could be way better than rated but could need it)

Imibala to win (should prefer the c & d)

(Also Acrostar earlier part of my ATC)

Glad Acrostar could win.

I think Hopeitsaprize can place here. She is way better than her form shows.

Still think Snaith will win the last two.

This is from the Brett Crawford yard. How can you have a write up like this then give a PA and not include your horse in Race 8???????????????????????

That Cowboy Kid: This horse is doing very well at home. He is distance suited and will probably end up being one of the better runners from the yard and is worth including in all perms.

PA: 2,8 / 9.11.13 / 4 / 3 / 2 / 3,7 / 9

its not the same thing,in his opinion one of the two that he selected wont miss

It is again clearly in evidence that when a 3 year old carries anything more than 55kg's in open company that, at this point of the year, the horse can almost always be ignored. This is a hard and fast rule I normally have but I have waved from this rule today to my detriment.

3 year olds high up in the ratings of lower handicaps simply don't win.

Seize the Throne looked a little big and it seems the trainers know that this will be an easy for them and if the horse comes up they won't get punished in the MR.

More often than not the horses run just off them and come on lengths. My fault, I should simply have remembered this and not been so strong on him even though I still think he is by far the best horse in that field.
