Need some advice in R8, Seize The Throne (7/2), from the handicapping fundis. Do you think this horse is a genuine MR 85 based on his only win? Bear in mind he beat Triptothestars (MR 77 at time of the race) by 2.25 lengths, and Triptothestars came out and won by 2.75 lengths next time out, when breaking his maiden. Must admit, when winning over 1600m, he literally went and fetched Triptothestars who tried to steal the race that day.
Tomorrow, Seize The Throne runs in a MR 72, so my thinking is, if you feel STT is well in here, then 7/2 must be a very good price and should start shorter come race time.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Hi Snazzy D, firstly welcome and look forward to reading opinions in the future. Thanks for the compliment, however i try just like everyone else on the forum.
Heartland is running against stronger company than Seize The Throne, must admit, the price is a bit skinny because he may not be a MR 89. Bumped two top horses last time, I'm going to say he needed that run because to me, it looked like he failed to kick on with the effort despite being handy for most of the journey. Assuming he has come on since then, he will go close tomorrow, just feel the price is short right now.
Snaith and Fourie do have some lively chances, one of those days where it wouldn't surprise you if they had three or more winners on the day, there is also the flip side to that .....
Regards the double, i would suggest waiting a little longer in the hope of a bigger price on Heartland, just my opinion.
Play well.

Trust your instinct and play Heartland in a multiple. Not saying it can't win, just feel the price is a bit short.
Maybe try a Snaith patent :-
Heartland X Seize The Throne X Imibala
I do fancy Seize The Throne though.

I think you are spot on. The last two are the best and care should be taken with Heartland.
Also fancy Acrostar at the weights.

@ Chris VB, it will be foolish to write off the winning chances of Eventual Angel. The 5th does appear to be a two horse race between Eventual Angel and Acrostar, do yourself a favour and Dutch them in a multiple if you intend taking one, nothing worse than going out to the obvious danger. You can still make money swopping them around in that particular leg.
I agree everything points to Acrostar, but Eventual Angel is a smart horse, and the bookies think so as well.
