CnC. You have a way of making me the "moer in" so I guess you are speaking the truth a lot of the time. However, I do think that you post for a reaction.
Neither SA or AUS will win the cricket.(imho)!
I fancy the Boks to go closer than the Aussies.

wow that's a bit harsh Russell. So you think that I post for a reaction, well from now on I think that every poster should open a thread and nobody should contribute to that thread.
Now tell me this, should I continue running the WSB prediction thread or give it to somebody else to run just in case I upset you wanting a reaction?

What pisses me off about the protea's, is the beggining of the 4year build up and pretty much for the first 3 years, they have a consistant team, unless someone is injured or really out of form. Come 1 year and less away from world cup, and all of a sudden shit needs to get changed and they looking for the best combinations. This should be the fine tuning time not searching. I mean, last world cup, Albie Morkel didnt feature in the protea's line up for a good 2 years, come w.c. and SHOCK, he is not only a squad member, but played all games. And another SHOCK, he didnt perform as he hadnt been playing at that level for years. Another one was Robin Peterson, once or twice he has been used as a pinch hitter, and what happened last w.c. all of a sudden they put him at number 3. WTF, somethings will never change. It starts to makr me wonder, maybe its not the players that choke, its the dressing room staff that choke the team.

Karma SA cricket has not learnt its lessons over the years as they approach every world cup/champions trophy/test series the same way. Hit them with pace and hope for the best. We have never had a world class spinner and its spinners that win the cups. As for the batting side of things they never change the order even if we are say 250/3 after 40 overs they wont bring in a big hitter early to boost the run rate. Look at Klusener, he should have batted higher in plenty of the matches (world cup semi final against the Aussies and we would have won that match). No complaints about the fielding as we have always had the best fielders. As for a coach they should have employed Fletcher when they had the chance too but did not. Maybe they only want SA coaches who knows but this SA side cant and wont win the upcoming world cup.

Agree 100% CNC. Although he wont be in the team, remember this name - Theunis de Bruyn. This kid can play. He will be making MASSIVE numbers for the protea's in the not to distant future.

I have just googled him on cricinfo and his batting looks very impressive. He looks as if he could be related to Morne Morkel as he look like him.

I have been watching a lot of domestic cricket and the standard has dropped big time ..the golden era of cricket in this country will be over soon unless the government fcuks off quickly with their demands on quotas ..I actually feel sorry for some of the players that are put into the team as they are embarrassing themselves ..for eg one lad batted 4 had an average of 9 after 43 innings another bowler was 50kg overweight ...quotas im talking having black players in the teams ..there is no place for this in sport

Imho, the Aussies have a great chance of winning on home turf, but i believe even though the a sub continent team, Ondia are fav's to retain the w.c. Kohli is back inform, and if my numbers arent wrong, when chasing down scores, he has made about 14 100's and the have only lost once when doing so. He has proven himself on all wickets around the world. Then you get Raina, who imo behind Dohni could be the biggest bmt player in the world in the shorter formats. Crunch games and Raina always scores runs and at a stupid pace. I think he scores 100 of about 60 balls in the champions trophey final not so long ago. Then you still have Dohni and there is no need to throw figures when talking about him. O, and dont forget the bloke that just scored 265 runs by himself in one Innings - Sharma... i just think they have the best debth in the world... dont think the pitch will mess them around too much...

100% pirates. I for one don't care who is in the SA teams so long as they deserve to be there. I obviously don't know the politics of local sa sport but one case in particular was Kevin Pieterson. He left Durban because he could not get into the Natal side because of politics. Now imagine him in the SA side, For one he would not have turned out to be a prima donna as Smith and Kallis would have kept him in his place and he would without a doubt been one of the world greats and who knows we might have won a world cup or two with his batting.

Karma with all respect to India, Sri Lanka are in plain words kak at the moment. The Indian batsman are world class in India. We will see how they go in the test series against the Aussies and then the one dayers against the Aussies and England prior to the world cup.

He scored a ton on his domestic debut, hes he did get dropped when on a low number, but some of the shots he was playing and his timing left me mesmerized, probably the hardest hitter of a cricket ball in s.a. domestic cricket.. he showed no nerves either. Think he scored it off about 80 balls, and there was no rash shots, proper cricket shots of the highest calibre.

maybe he will get noticed and get an IPL deal and if he performs that will get him into the SA team. We need hard hitters. I don't know if you remember a player called Adrian Kuiper (played for Province and SA) now that bloke could hit a ball.
