I gather Maritzburg College have a youngster that has played 1st team since U14. Averages about 60 and has just been given a bursary and the whole family will emigrate to Australia. They have paid for everything. Lock stock and barrel!

Not many whites in the system as not many whites play soccer any more. When I was a kid (70's) soccer was played by many more whites but the structures are not in place any more. Many affluent schools i.e. private and public schools do not play soccer at all. Many talented black athletes now go to schools where cricket and rugby are played and are lured to play these sports. The universities in Gauteng do have structures in place and I am aware of a few whites that play soccer. These kids typically only play soccer the whole year around. These kids typically have fathers that actively played and either coach them or encourage them.
