I obviously don't know the politics of local sa sport but one case in particular was Kevin Pieterson. He left Durban because he could not get into the Natal side because of politics. Now imagine him in the SA side, For one he would not have turned out to be a prima donna as Smith and Kallis would have kept him in his place and he would without a doubt been one of the world greats and who knows we might have won a world cup or two with his batting.

I do agree 100% with the quoter side of things. Unfotunately Pieterson's downfall (attitude) began at a very young age. Hence he didnt even play 1st team cricket at school. I know the coach very well and talent was outshone by attitude from a tender age.

i used to love watching him go about his business. Kuiper's style of batting was truley - I see ball, i hit ball. Hard and far.

I read KPs book and when I started reading it I thought that it would be a good read but by the 2nd chapter it was all about internal politics and he had me believe that he was the victim.

I really believe riley rossouw has what it takes he looks like he belongs in that team and im hoping the selectors give david wise a chance from the titans to play as an allrounder against the windies in the 50 over games as parnell and McLaren haven't got what it takes ..McLaren cant play the shortball and parnell hasn't got it mentally..wiese is tough mentally and he is very tall and the tracks in oz will suit him

abbot is another who must be in the starting line up and leave morkel out unless we playing at the waca or something with pace and bounce..with duminy back the team will be a lot more balanced and this tour to nz and oz will have helped the squad a lot ..im still confident we can do it chicken with a bit of luck from the draw

my starting 11 would be

Amla
du Plessis
Rousouw
AB
JP
Miller
Steyn
Morkel
Philander
Tahir or Abbott depending on the pitch as you can use JP as a spinner
De Kock (I would use him as a floater but not opener as he can blast away in the middle of the innings because that's where we lose our matches because of slow scoring)

agreed..... But then again we have discovered 2 new allrounders. De Villiers and Berhardien. LOL  ...... once again few months before w.c. and we doing this shit. dont they realise that even if they do manage to bowl 10 overs for under 6 runs and over during the middle stages, they not going to take 3or 4 wickets and that spirals to the death of the innings as instead of bowling to a number 6 or 7 or even 8 batsmen, they bowling to a top order batsmen who is now seeing the ball like a beachball and can boss the game...

listening to shaun Pollock yesterday he was talking about our failure in the second powerplay of 5 overs and he recommended we take it straight after the 10 overs where you have 2 top order batsmen at the crease and also their are always bowling changes after 10 overs so you are facing the so called lesser bowlers and you just play them as you were the previous 10..also the top order batsmen are used to playing the powerplays unlike the middle to lower order players who cannot just change gears like top order batsmen..

if JP and Tahir are fit then Peterson will lose out although he did well at the SCG the otherday (a great catch and 4 wickets)

its a toss up between Parnell and McLaren.
You cant not take Berhardin now as he did get better as the series progressed
I think that de Lange could be wild and expensive so maybe leave him out, although who else is there as a back up opening bowler.

I must say however, i do think the talent we have in our best starting 11 is great (not so much our debth), we just need someone in the dressing room to guide it. I must say although he is a bowling caoch and thats were we are struggling i think Donald is a great guy to have there as he is always walking around the field communicating with th guys. Thats something you dont see too often in the international areana. If i was CSA, i would throw a lucrative deal to someone like a Steve Waugh, who would bring such a mental strenght to the side and imo that would make the world of difference. To me, i wont say he was the best cricketer in the world, cause he wasnt, but hell he has to be one of the toughest ever to grace the game...

For me Tahir will not play often. The wickets are similar to ours in SA and the Indians played him easily. I expect the top 6 countries to play him easily so he will not play those games.

I am not a Parnell fan but he does appear to be one of the first names on the team sheet.

If we unbalance the team and expect AN and Behardin to bowl 10 overs between them, we will lose more games than we win.

I would also move Faf out of # 3.

If we bat first, I would play Amla at # 3.

If we bat second, I would bat de Kock at # 3.
