Legislate fan but cant see why Louis can't give him a scare and think too easy to just be thinking the Met is more his mission.

Race 5 - Muscatt @6/1 e/w. Comes off a break but is a class sprinter and has a great c&d record. gets the stable jockey up which suggests hes fit and well. Won coming off a break last time so looks good value here. Swinger with Equity Kicker

Race 6 - Going to follow the Snaith stable here with Johnny Rockets @10/1 e/w. Very good comeback run where he was right behind the two favorites in this race. Not very well in at the weights but should build on that last run and go close. Swinger with stable mate Arion.

Race 7 - The Conglomerate @7/2 e/w. Will continue to follow this one, keen to see how good he really is.

Race 8 - Jet Aglow @9/2 e/w. Such a consistent quality horse and 3rd run after rest will be gobsmacked if he's not involved in the finish. Really pumping the place @evens here.

Race 9 - Legislate should walk it. Kingvolt for the swinger.

Goodluck all and enjoy the day to those attending. Been roped into business in Jo'burg so won't be able to attend unfortunately. Will have to settle for just the Met this year.

Here are the horses I hope go well, given my choices for races 4 & 6 above.

R3 - Caesour's Ides in a really tough race as so many are relatively unexposed. Has been a marginal shortening in the price, a positive sign I hope.

R5 - nightmare race, don't fancy anything in particular.

R7 - Balance Sheet, on his last two runs to MLJet, whom some make the one to beat, Balance Sheet must have a realistic chance of finishing ahead of MLJet. Two runs back at level weights, MLJet finished 1.0 length ahead of BS. Last time out, again at level weights, BS finished 0.10 ahead of MLJet. Tomorrow there is a 3.0kg swing in Balance Sheet's favour, so I will gladly take the 6/1.

R8 - Jet Aglow, the run to Legislate is not as bad as it looks. Her last run is self evident, so from draw 1 again, she should go close again, third run after a rest so should be cherry ripe.

R9 - can't elaborate more on what you already know.

R10 - Wavin' Flag looks the obvious choice, PROVIDED he has recovered from the Johannesburg sojourn. For me, the fact that money hasn't poured on this horse yet is because he hasn't shown (the recovery) improvement in his work, so the stable are unsure. It's a case of, if he returns to what he is capable of, then he wins, and only the race is going to tell.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Race 8 - Jet Aglow travelled strongly last time when winning over what looks her optimum trip of 1600m. She is still effective this 1800m and gets a great draw. Similar prep to last year when finishing 3rd behind now absent Beach Beauty and In the Fast Lane and just in front of Hammie's Hooker(who lines up again).

R1 Mordaunt Magic x Kings Of War
R2 Avoid
R3 LEGAL FORCE x Caesour's Ides
R4 Night In Seattle x Henry Of York x Valerio
R5 EQUITY KICKER x Western Movie x Happy Forever
R6 Punta Arenas x Helderberg Blue x Arion
R7 The Conglomerate x Sheer Trouble x MLJet
R8 Hammies Hooker x Jet Aglow x Maybe Yes
R9 Legislate
R10 Coltrane
R11 THREE BLUE CRANES x Smiling Mistress
R12 BOUNTIFUL HARVEST x Harvard Crimson

All the above selections (not tips!!) are based on my interpretation of form, draws, times, the few trainer comments out there and a few other things with a hunch or two thrown in. Go look for yourself. That better for you TN? :silly:

Rarely find these kind of days to be punter friendly... a bit of transparency would be nice, especially if you have around 40 runners out, though that shouldn't make a difference in truth. Thanks as always to those very few trainers etc who do post their thoughts and the well being of their horses, extremely helpful and much appreciated.

Be(s)t of luck to all

Great days racing ahead, I'll be watching each race and having a full go on one strong, solid double... Paddock Stakes Grade 1 and Queens Plate.

Jet Aglow won't finish ahead of Hammies Hooker, at level weights Jet Aglow needs to find two lengths and although drawn significantly better than Hammies will still battle to finish ahead of the Beach Beauty bridesmaid. Its Hammies time to shine and that's a very strong first selection...

Legislate looks very hard to oppose even at 4/10, relatively generous, well it remains to be seen.

As mentioned earlier by Englander, days like these we see the best on offer and yet these race days usually yield the biggest results, so many runners I LIKE but decided to restrain myself from having a bet on anything else but the above two.

Good luck to all, if you backed Hammies you won't be sorry you did!
