Craig i seen a video the other week, a girl had been away from her horse for 2 months, as soon as the horse saw her it was like a dog wagging it`s tail when it`s owner comes home

Drakenstein bought the 45% share. Horse was valued at around 13 million. Believe it was destined for de knock with the sheik buying 50%. That's when things turned upside down

What a devastating blow for Brett Crawford to lose the star that he prepared to rise to great heights....................and then to lose all other horses from the ownership!!!
A sad day for racing...........................as Rockspider quoted " only in S.A."

Perhaps I am ignorant but I can not understand all the hype. The horse is moving because one of the partners wanted to sell. Good luck to him at 13 million I would be a seller too. Horses belong to owners and trainers are paid to train them. I agree that it is hard on Brett, but as the guys were saying yesterday in the rooms, he is sure to have received a substantial commission in the sale.

Yup we all get carried away with emotion when things like this happens, must admit i thought it was rotten on Brett ( still do ) but if someone offered him Variety Club when Joey forgot to enter him in Dubai or organise his transport in Durban i`m sure he would have accepted..
ps i hear Brett has acted like the Gentleman he is throughout the whole saga

Re: Futura moving to Snaiths?
10 years 5 months agoota ...this must be the lowest point of bretts training career if not life as futura is a once in a lifetime horse ,a horse that any trainer will tell you he gets you out of bed in the morning for...no money can compensate brett for the loss of this superstar whose best is still to come...he could have been the next pocket power winning multiple group ones and how do you think the bass yard would have felt if they lost him after winning one met and queens plate ..they have never replaced him in spite of all the money the same owner has spent....I really hope that brett does find another futura as he is an example to all other trainers in the manner he conducts himself.Over the Air wrote: Perhaps I am ignorant but I can not understand all the hype. On another note, Joey, has a great sense of humor. In his speech at the launch of Variety Clubs stallion career, he said that VC was such a clever, fantastic animal that at one stage he (Joey) thought he (VC) would write himself in for his own races.
Money and good horses make good men act strangely !

Being told these figures are way out, is this the price you heard the sheik offered?
Did hear Ian was offered crazy money for 5%

I believe it's what dekock offered on behalf of the sheik, therefor it what was the value when the one partner decided there was no deal .
