After all the excitement of a "new" Tellytrack" the production is getting worse and worse!
Choice of cameras during running is becoming a joke and technical breakdowns more frequent.
Hope it's temporary!

Yes .......and Turfontein yesterday got the finish of a race from behind the runners.
....and the technical problems have been frequent, from so many centres, over the last few weeks!

I see this trend continues ................there seems to be a new idea that the best angle to watch a horse race is from the back ..............who is a horses arse?.......lol :cheer:

What is going on ............the more the commentator gives the correct results, the more the data room gets the numbers wrong. (and then Cecil just calls them wrong too) ...............its a circus ..............Has Mr Scott started yet?
I thought we were looking forward to improvement!

The efficiency actually improved (under McCurdy I presume) but gone backwards again!

TO: The site administrators – African Betting Clan

We wish to provide feedback relating to a small thread that appeared on your site Forum on Sunday 21st June which referred to Tellytrack and raised the following two issues:

1. The loss of picture experienced from Scottsville Racecourse on 21 June 2015

2. Poor camera work during the Turffontein meeting on 20 June 2015

With regards to the loss of picture/feed from Scottsville, this was due to an engineer error in our network provider’s control centre in Pretoria. The loss of signal, which lasted for six minutes, was unfortunately out of our hands but, having lodged our report, we are awaiting further feedback from our service provider regarding.

Further to this, and although this specific fault was purely human error beyond our direct control, the network currently in use to deliver our picture from the source venue to our Rivonia studios is beginning to become dated and may begin to experience increased technical issues going forward. In this regard, Tellytrack is in the process of finalising the installation of a dedicated high speed network linking all racing venues across South Africa.

While the migration to any new technology may come with its share of “gremlins” during the implementation phase, we are confident that the new network will lead to an improvement in the quality and stability of our local racing feeds from source to our studios. Forthermore, we are in negotiations with our broadcaster and facilities provider for a complete upgrade and overhaul of critical studio equipment to avoid increasing technical issues due to equipment failure on any aging equipment.

With regards to the poor camera work experienced during a race finish at Turffontein on Saturday 20th June, this was a disappointing and avoidable error on the part of us, the Tellytrack staff. The matter has been raised and will be resolved internally.

We understand that nothing will ever be perfect, and faults or errors will occur, but we continue to seek ways to improve and deliver a reliable product to our customers.

Warm regards

The Tellytrack Team
